Job Description The Warehouse Supervisor oversees warehouse functions ensuring proper coordination of shipment of production, proper documentation and shipping systems. This position supervises the activities of all shipping employees to include vacation/absentee relief, enforce and discipline of company rules and regulations, housekeeping and safety, conflict resolution, new hire or newly promoted training and performance evaluations. Prompt communication with customers and Amcor Management regarding delivery and/or billing issues. Reports and/or recommends to Materials Manager or Plant Manager production efforts to recover product inventory levels and finished goods to meet customer orders. Ensures adequate supplies of production materials; maintains specified inventory levels of needed materials and prepares reports pertinent to inventory. Coordinates the receiving and distribution of production needs. Utilizes available warehouse space for storage of finished ware, raw materials and recyclables. Ability to analyze warehousing options and make savings recommendations. Ability to analyze current freight costs and carriers by individual lane, against corporate guidelines. Ability to resolve customer or employee issues on a 24/7 basis. Segregates recyclables (contaminated resin and regrind, purge material, plastic wrap and strapping) and assumes sanitary and orderly storage space. Prepares shipments on recyclables as it accumulates. Arranges storage of broken pallets and schedules the repair and/or disposal. Actively supports the production efforts by assisting forklift employees as needed. Identifies, plans and conducts or coordinates technical training for plant employees (examples to include GMP, SOPs, WIs, FCDs, machine operations, processing, lockout/tagout, or forklift/manlift operations). Processes return dunnage into SAP from customers and other Amcor plants. Processes customer returns/RMAs into SAP when received. Drives recruitment and training of new forklift drivers for both warehouse and production. Keeps work area neat, clean and organized. Maintains a safe work environment and works safely at all times. Performs other duties as directed.
