NGL Energy Partners LP Senior Accountant in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Job Description

The Senior Accountant’s primary responsibility is to review transactions and financial results, analyze and interpret agreements and complete monthly tasks in order to assist management in ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting and accounting system. The Senior Accountant is also responsible for assisting on special projects, interfacing with internal and external auditors, and other duties as required for maintaining the efficiency of the Accounting Department.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze, and interpret financial results and transactions.

  • Prepare journal entries.

  • Improve processes and assist in the monitoring of internal controls.

  • Assist with internal and external audit needs and coordination of requests.

  • Research technical accounting guidance and assist in the resolution of accounting issues.

  • Assist in setting up and retiring entities in the general ledger and reporting software.

  • Assist management and other team members on various projects/tasks as needed.

  • Deliver results in a timely manner while meeting strict deadlines.

  • Perform all above requirements in a safe, thorough, and responsible manner.

  • Regular attendance at the worksite is required.

Position Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and preferred Oracle experience.

  • Highly detailed and organized

  • Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal direction from supervisor.

  • High-level critical and logical thinking skills and reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.

  • Proficiency with accounting concepts, such as financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheets.

  • Ability to work with highly confidential information.

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Serve as a representative of the company, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions.

  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.

  • Build good working relationships with various departments.

  • Must be dependable with a stable work history.

  • Ability to maintain stability under pressure and be flexible and willing to modify plans and behavior when necessary.

  • Ability to adapt to change.

  • Excellent time-management skills.

  • Ability to work with respect and cooperation at all times with fellow employees and customers.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent experience required.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting theory is required.

  • Minimum 3 years accounting experience in corporate or public accounting.

  • Experience with Oracle is preferred.

  • CPA is preferred.

  • Experience in the midstream oil, trucking/logistics, or natural gas liquids industry is a plus.

Travel:

Negligible travel required.
