Job Title: Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) DesignerJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing engineering standards, overseeing project construction, and ensuring project objectives and budgets are met. This role involves designing and maintaining EI&C equipment, analyzing systems and processes, and conducting research to improve process control methods.
Responsibilities
Develop Engineering Standards for EI&C equipment purchases and installations.
Define projects by determining objectives, selecting technical strategies, and providing technical assistance to business units.
Plan projects by writing specifications, developing schedules, and designing process improvements.
Oversee construction of EI&C Capital Projects.
Develop project scopes, budgets, and Authorizations for Expenditure (AFE) for approval and ensure projects meet budget, refinery, and OSHA standards.
Implement projects by monitoring performance, taking corrective actions, providing feedback to the project team, and negotiating for materials, supplies, and services.
Solve technical problems related to projects and troubleshoot updates for business unit reports.
Upgrade, design, configure, maintain, and monitor related equipment and performance.
Analyze related components, systems, processes, methods, and refinery processes and economics.
Ensure the maintenance and integrity of business unit data.
Design EI&C equipment for chemical plants and develop processes for manufacturing chemicals and products.
Conduct research to develop new and improved process control methods.
Design and plan layouts for EI&C on a commercial scale.
Determine the most effective arrangement of Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls such as Burner Management, Safety Instrumented Systems, and Power Distribution Equipment.
Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems.
Essential Skills
Experience in design, electrical, controls design, instrument design, and power system design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry.
Industrial and construction experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Basic experience in petrochemical industry.
Work Environment
This position is an onsite role at the plant supporting capital expenditure projects. The work environment involves industrial and construction settings, requiring attention to safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
