Job Description:
The Associate, Project Management position will be instrumental in overseeing and executing program management activities within the organization. This role demands a proactive problem-solver who can independently navigate complex tasks with minimal oversight and drive team success through leadership and adaptability in the face of challenges and change. This role will support Program and Portfolio Managers with production programs and manage small, simple project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Directs all phases of assigned projects from inception through completion
Drives project execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs
Responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of assigned projects and/or work packages
Establishes project milestones and monitors adherence to processes, schedules, identifies project risks and manages risk mitigation or solutions
Directs the work of employees assigned to the project and lobbies for correct resource allocations as more or less are required, depending on the project phase
Work collaboratively with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to manage cost and schedule performance and resolve technical issues
Engage with internal stakeholders, external customers, and leadership to foster effective collaboration
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to interact effectively at all organizational levels
Able to perform tasks independently with minimal direction using continuous problem-solving techniques and be able to lead through, overcome, and adapt to obstacles and challenges
Able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
May perform other assigned duties, from time to time
Ability to travel 25% of the time
Education and Experience:
Requires comprehensive level knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 0 years of project management, industrial engineering, manufacturing, or related industry experience
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0 years of project management, industrial engineering, manufacturing, or related industry experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of project management, industrial engineering, manufacturing, or related industry experience
Requirement to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance within 1 year from date of hire
Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Additional Skills:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Fluent with Costpoint ERP/MRP
Earned Value Management System (EVMS) / Cost and Schedule experience
Cost Account Management (CAM) experience
Risk/Issue/Opportunities (RIO) experience
Microsoft Project (scheduling), Microsoft Excel (pivot tables), and Microsoft PowerPoint experience
Active DoD Secret Clearance
