Job Title: Machine Design EngineerJob Description

As a Machine Design Engineer, you will manage all aspects of a project from inception to completion. You will interact with clients, handle any issues that arise, and be responsible for performing engineering calculations, FEA Analysis, and CAD when necessary. You will work in a multidisciplinary project team environment to develop custom design solutions that satisfy unique customer requirements. Typical projects include wind tunnel equipment, rocket and jet engine test stands, automotive test cells, and other unique test facilities and systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of a project from cradle to grave.

• Interact with clients and handle issues when they arise.

• Perform engineering calculations, FEA Analysis, and CAD as needed.

• Work in a multidisciplinary project team environment to develop custom design solutions.

• Develop designs for wind tunnel equipment, rocket and jet engine test stands, automotive test cells, and other unique test facilities and systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical.

• High GPA and relevant internship experience.

• Preferred coursework: Statics & Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Mechanisms/Machine Design, Kinematics, Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, System Dynamics, 3D CAD.

Work Environment

This position is located at a design and test center that does work for the defense sector and the automotive industry. The facility specializes in designing and testing wind tunnels and custom machinery. The company boasts a great culture and work environment with low turnover and a very tenured staff. Additionally, employees enjoy half-day Fridays.
