Lathe Machinist

Job Description

Aerotek and it's client are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to set up and operate a CNC Index Multispindle for medium-high volume production. The ideal candidate will have strong geometric dimensional and tolerance skills, an understanding of CNC programs, and experience with Siemens controls for lathe machine tools. This position requires maintaining good housekeeping conditions, enforcing safety practices, and completing required documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a CNC Index Multispindle for medium-high volume production.

• Notify supervisor of abnormal situations for corrective action.

• Make recommendations for improvements in methods of performance of work.

• Maintain good housekeeping conditions and enforce safety practices.

• Complete and maintain any required documentation.

• Participate in PCC Corporate Safety Training.

Essential Skills

• Strong Geometric Dimensional & Tolerance skills.

• 2-3 years Lathe experience.

• Proficient in math skills.

• Ability to read and understand machining CNC programs.

• Basic understanding of common 'G' and 'M' codes.

• Experience with Siemens controls for lathe machine tools.

• Understanding of basic tabletop gages – Micrometers, Calipers, the person gages, bore micrometers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferably a graduate from trade school or AJAC.

• Manual machining experience.

• Manual mill/lathe troubleshooting skills.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Organizational and time management skills.

• Problem-solving and analysis skills.

Work Environment

You will be working in an aerospace machine workshop. The available shifts include weekday nights (Mon-Thurs, 5pm to 5:30am) and weekend nights (Fri-Sun, 5pm to 5:30am).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tukwila, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00
