Eaton Corporation Area Sales Manager, Washington and Alaska in Tukwila, Washington

Eaton’s North American Sales division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to join our team. This position is located in Tukwila, WA. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates outside of a 50-mile radius of this location. This role will focus on electrical distribution products in western Washington and Alaska. This is a great opportunity for a driven sales professional to lead a sales organization that calls on a diverse customer mix from commercial construction to industrial.

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s North American Sales Division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to join our team. This position is part of our North America Electrical Sales team and will be based in our Tukwila, WA location. Position Overview: The Sales Manager will manage a customer base, sales resources, products and channels to market to achieve planned results for the district. This individual will provide leadership and development to a sales team consisting of sales professionals, sales reps and the distributor channel. Expected results include but are not limited to growth in sales and market share, channel development as well as developing talent within the district.

In this function you will:

  • Ability to manage sales engineers in different markets – specifically Western Washington and Alaska

  • Ability to navigate and cooperate with plant operations to meet and exceed customer urgent requests.

  • Develop employee talent to prepare the business for future success

  • Develop and grow existing channel relationships

  • Grow sales and market share

  • Have a strong knowledge of managing products, product applications and distribution channels

  • Negotiate, cope with ambiguity, work through complex problems, and manage conflict

  • Have the technical aptitude to understand and position solutions within the respective product category

  • Execute and communicate compelling value proposition and strategy internally and externally

  • Manage different maturity levels in the market, and varying business cycles

  • Ability to demonstrate remote sales team management.

  • Influence without authority, in a matrix environment and have a professional presence to clearly be in command in difficult sales situations

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution

  • Minimum seven (7) years electrical industry sales/marketing and/or engineering experience

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Manager of people experience

  • 10+ years of electrical industry sales experience

Skills:

  • Superior knowledge and demonstrated skills of sales techniques, customer interaction, customer relations and employee development - Leadership style and demonstrated behavior consistent with Eaton’s values and philosophies.

  • Analytical thinking capability, leveraging data-driven arguments to make decisions - Customer Orientation; ability to understand, communicate and meet customer needs.

  • Negotiation skills and expertise; ability to cope with ambiguity, and work through complex problems and manage conflict.

  • Technical aptitude to understand and position solutions within the respective product category.

The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $192,600.00 - 282,479.00

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
