Robert Half Staff Accountant in Tucson, Arizona
Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. In this role, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities including the posting of journal entries, maintaining vendor files, and assisting with annual audits. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes and maintaining the accuracy of our financial records.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the posting of monthly journal entries to ensure accurate record-keeping
• Oversee accounts payable to maintain financial clarity
• Reconcile monthly investment portfolio statements to ensure accuracy
• Handle the reconciliation of travel and credit card statements
• Carry out the reconciliation of monthly bank statements to maintain accurate accounts
• Prepare expense reports to track company spending
• Maintain vendor files and ensure they are up-to-date
• Calculate monthly depreciation and amortization schedules for accurate financial reporting
• Update monthly royalty reports to ensure correct payments are made
• Assist with annual audit preparations and provide necessary schedules and support as needed
• Uphold all internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations. Requirements • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven work experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Solid understanding and experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries.
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and Month End Close procedures.
• Familiarity with financial software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.
• Knowledge of General Ledger System is essential.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Commitment to personal and professional development.
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and manage competing demands.
