The Advance Technology (AISS) is looking for a High Power Microwave (HPM) System Integrator (SI) subject matter expert (SME) with a strong background in software. This is a hands-on position requiring domestic travel to the integration sites and SWES/CIL laboratory work in Tucson AZ. The HPM-SI will be responsible for taking ownership of the assembly, checkout, troubleshooting and completion of hardware/software integration all the way to requirements verification. This position requires a multidisciplinary background to include software development, configuration management, GNC and motor controls, and mechanical/electrical/systems engineering. However, the strong emphasis is on software for HPM integration. The HPM-SI will possess leadership experience having led small site teams of varying technical backgrounds and must have the resources to pull-in other SMEs from internal RTX or industry.

What You Will Do:

  • HPM testbed troubleshooting and integration

  • Blackbox interface integration

  • Network engineering and development

  • Perform increasing levels of integration

  • Requirements definition and verification

  • Interface with subcontractors with the ability to work at their locations

  • Prepare, brief and provide recommendations in Engineering Review Boards

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a BS degree in engineering with 10+ years of engineering experience

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Multidisciplinary engineer with background in: Software Engineering, GNC and Motor Controls, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

  • Software knowledge in: C++/Python design patterns, threading/multiprocessing, linux kernel compiling/design, writing kernel extensions, Ethernet layer 1, 2, 3, computer information security (including crypto, hardening computers, etc), GNC, Orbital Mechanics, ADS-B, Coordinate systems/linear algebra, system engineering,

  • Experience in COTS standard interface out there to include but not limited to ModBus, CanBus, CanOpen, EtherCAT, Ethernet IP (Industrial Protocol) and LAN/WAN

  • Systems Integration and Engineering to develop fault isolation, fault trees, COTS interface engineering experience, computer and system architecture and, requirements and verification

  • Software leading and executing software EQT

  • Experience leading small interdisciplinary site teams

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience in integrating RTX HPM systems

  • Proven experience in black-box interface integration on HPM systems, motors, controller over standard communication protocols

  • Lab experience in the Tucson AZ SWES/CIL development

  • Fundamental RF knowledge with understanding of complex impedance matching

  • This is a temporary position of undetermined length.
