Position Summary:

The Field Operations Manager will formulate strategy, improve performance, and secure compliance . A s a Field Operations Manager, this position will be working as part of our team and engaging in nearly every aspect of the electrical contracting business. You will be working as part of our team focusing on the management and development of our construction and field work.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Determine and coordinate manpower and overall development of manpower resources with our project teams.

  • Provide leadership and direction to all direct reports and provide the structure and guidance your team members need to do their best work on a consistent basis.

  • Manage and work closely with Branch Manager / Human Resources on the hiring, terminations, and disciplinary actions of the field workforce

  • Participate as a vital leadership team member, and contribute towards the success and continuous improvement of the organization

  • Promote, execute and adhere to the Company’s Safety Program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture, with daily / weekly safety meetings and reviews of "safe work" plans with crews prior to job commencement

  • Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information, gather ideas, and drive resolution on employee related matters.

  • Oversee field operations to perform all jobs according to plan, while meeting or exceeding timing, quality and safety expectations.

  • Assure all projects meet or exceed Owner, General Contractor and CECM mandated quality control levels regarding electrical and low voltage installations

  • Identify operational issues that could lead to problems and facilitate solutions.

  • Manage equipment logistics, placement, and deliveries to ensure workflow is operating at optimum efficiency.

  • Assist Foremen with the proper planning and utilization of pre-fabrication activities to increase productivity.

  • Ensure daily/weekly scheduling of field personnel and construction operations to maximize productivity and reduce labor costs

  • Be available to customers as needed – able to effectively troubleshoot and resolve inquiries with the support of your field teams

  • Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required

  • Organize and conduct training for all labor force

  • Develop, foster and maintain professional relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers

  • Support and carry out directives, programs and initiatives as envisioned and directed by the Branch Manager

  • Participate in trade organizations and community involvement activities

  • All other duties as assigned and required

    Required Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Superior communication skills written and verbal

  • Ability to manage a team and build working relationships within all levels of the organization

  • Ability to perform without supervision

  • Strong computer skills

  • Detail-oriented with drive to accomplish set goals

    Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience as a General Foreman or Foreman in the filed running electrical construction and service projects.

  • Proven track record of successful leadership of tradesmen in the field.

  • Will consider equivalent experience and education on a case by case basis.
