The AMRAAM Production team has an exciting opening for a Principal Financial Analyst! AMRAAM® is currently under contract through Lot 37 missile deliveries with an additional $1B award expected in 2024. The primary customer for AMRAAM® is the US Air Force, but significant Sales are also attributable to the US Navy and through FMS procurements. AMRAAM® is in use with 41 countries and has a 2024 Sales AOP of $1.3B+. While AMRAAM has been in production for many years, this is an exciting time as the program is in the final phases of the Form, Fit, Function Refresh (F3R) development EMD Program which upgrades the missile’s Guidance Section, and actively working to begin initial F3R configured Production rounds. In addition to the active Production activities, there are also active Test Equipment, Depot activities, and obsolescence driven Life of Type Buy efforts the program works with the USG on to support Production through the remainder of the USG Program of Record (PoR) and into the FMS PoR well beyond 2030.

This role provides a tremendous opportunity for an individual to have responsibility as the "CFO" of an active AMRAAM Production lot. Responsibilities include working closely with Program Managers and Functional counterparts on forecast and EAC inputs, driving corrective actions to closure, and analyzing and communicating cost & performance variances to the EAC and financial forecast plan. This individual will have the opportunity to dive in to financial planning including AOP and LRP for their Production Lot, and improve analysis by automating and building reports. An ideal individual for this role will be a strong communicator with a desire to learn, seek process and efficiency improvements, and work in a fast-paced environment. In addition to recurring role activities, this individual will be expected to perform ad-hoc requests, creative solutions for program and process challenges, and assist in the development of fundamental and intermediary analytical skills of junior analysts.

What You Will Do

  • Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly variance and data analysis.

  • Work closely with various functional organizations during the Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) process as well as monitoring these organizations performance.

  • Drive the financial planning activities their specific contract including RPLAN updates and analyze and communicate how program performance impacts BSEC (Bookings, Sales, Earnings, & Cash).

  • Develop and delivery of Contract Data Requirement Lists (CDRLs).

  • Financial point of contact for Program Management and be able to provide financial guidance to IPT leads and non-finance organizations including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or related topic

  • Typically requires 5+ years finance work experience; OR an Advanced degree and 3+ years prior relevant experience

  • Experience interfacing and conducting business with various functional disciplines (Contracts, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain) in program development and execution.

  • Experience with APEX, PRISM, Analysis for Office, Rplan, EDIT+ or a similar system

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (i.e. pivot tables, advanced formulas), Word, and PowerPoint

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Proven ability working independently and with higher levels of management.

  • The candidate should be very knowledgeable of program control responsibilities which include meeting internal requirements such as coordinating budgetary agreements, preparing EACs and monthly forecasts.

  • Clear, succinct written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated and inquisitive with strong analytical and mathematical skills.

  • Work experience in a production-oriented business.

  • Ability to effectively work in a challenging and fast paced environment while multi-tasking on several different program issues concurrently.

  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and develop and apply solutions and process improvements.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership.

  • Experience with financial planning and key metrics (Bookings, Sales, Earnings & Cash).

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures

  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
