Public Buildings Service Administrative Officer in Tucson, Arizona

Summary As an Administrative Officer in the Service Center, you will provide, or secure from Central Office or Regional servicing offices, resources (financial and personnel) and management services (telephone, mail, Xerox, administrative equipment, data processing). Location of position: Public Building Services, Tucson, AZ. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Responsibilities Serves as the Administrative Officer. Implements methods, procedures, and provides direction to Service Center employees. Reviews resources available and identifies the services or resources needed. Consults with the Deputy Director on Service Center goals and objectives and proceeds with agreed upon administrative actions. Interprets and disseminates new policies, procedures, and instructions from Central and Regional administrative offices. Establishes controls and monitors the performance of administrative functions within the Service Center. Evaluates existing administrative policies and performance. Coordinates with the service center's staff or assists the staff to implement changes. Furnishes technical guidance and assistance to operating officials in the formulation, development, coordination, and integration of budgetary and financial management requirements. Monitors use of Government wide commercial credit cards to pay for small purchases. Resolves problems related to delinquent or overdue payments involving Government credit card users for both travel and purchase cards. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify for GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is performing at least 2 of the following: Performing the following administrative functions: budget and financial management, purchasing, procurement, human resources, and general administration to conduct the business of an organization; or analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of management programs and controls, operating procedures, or workflow and making recommendations; or assisting staff in the implementation of organizational goals and objectives by providing support in the development and execution of internal management activities. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR A combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.
