Portland General Electric Physical Security Coordinator in Tualatin, Oregon

Summary

Security Promotes corporate resiliency by protecting the organization's employees and physical assets through security policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with government guidelines and standards.

This role will serve as the primary point of contact for all PGE Physical Security suppliers, contractors, and contingent workers. Incumbent will coordinate with project managers to ensure resources are available and scheduled to support PGE Security projects and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Security Specialist (P3)

Security Operations Project Coordination:

  • Responsible for providing project assistance to a senior project manager (PM).

  • Types include, but are not limited to, business systems or process improvements.

  • Collaborate with security teams to understand and assist with tracking all work, tasks, and project assignments.

  • Collaborate with PGE Security vendors and contract security personnel to ensure adherence to PGE policies.

  • Ensure project deadlines are met and determine project changes as needed.

  • Participate in assessing business needs and determining if new security products or upgrades are needed or viable.

  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of multiple projects, including preparing and maintaining project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, expenditures and setting up of project records systems.

  • Ensure projects adhere to applicable frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.

  • Providing administrative support as needed.

Support Security Management:

  • May participate in developing strategies, policies, practices, processes, and standards for the PGE Security Department.

  • Support Contract Security onboarding/offboarding.

  • Assist with determining if the security systems (access controls, intrusion alarms and video surveillance) are compliant with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Regulatory Compliance Reviews:

  • Participate in periodic compliance reviews, certifications and audits related to FERC/NERC/WECC Reliability and CIP Standards.

  • Recommend procedures, business practices and protocols to enhance compliance with FERC regulations while balancing the employee occupational needs.

Conduct Site Visits:

  • May participate in site visits (planned as well as random, unannounced) to inspect security systems; ensures the systems are operational and confirms that agreed-upon policy and operating procedures are being followed.

Investigations:

  • May participate in investigating and evaluating security incidents.

  • May identify and recommend changes or corrective action to prevent future incidents.

Research:

  • As assigned, research regulatory changes in physical security requirements and emerging industry trends and best practices applicable to physical security.

  • Recommend process changes and support implementation efforts.

Technical Oversight and Training:

  • Participate in training security contractors and delegated PGE personnel on Security policies and standards and the operation of the Security Management System.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Certifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, law enforcement, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Typically, five or more years in security, regulatory compliance, or a related field.

  • Valid driver’s license required.

PGE supports hybrid flexible work arrangements; and will have a combination of in-the-office and working offsite. This individual will need to be located within 75 miles from job location. However, these arrangements may change due to business needs or changes in responsibility.

Compensation Range:

$87,225.00 - $145,375.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
