Martis Camp Assistant Food and Beverage Manager (Seasonal) in Truckee, California

POSITION SUMMARY :  

The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the club's dining facilities. Working closely with the Food and Beverage Director and the other tenured Managers, this position oversees various aspects of food and beverage service to maintain high standards of quality, member satisfaction, and profitability.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :  

  • Organize, direct, and evaluate food and beverage service.

  • Recruitment of new ambassadors

  • Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.

  • Requisitioning and inventory control process for wine, liquor, other beverage and supplies.

  • Monitor revenues and expenses for areas of responsibility.

  • Ensure best practices regarding health and safety regulations.

  • Provide clear and consistent communication with the Food & Beverage Director, F&B Managers, to execute overall excellent service.

  • Liaise daily with the culinary team to ensure smooth execution of culinary responsibilities.

  • Creates an environment that establishes the highest standards of quality service.

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the team, including servers, bartenders, bussers, and food runners, towards achieving exceptional guest service results.

  • Weekly schedules for your team that are in-line with the budget.

  • Daily coordination of overall front-of-house operations

  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to promote teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A seasonal full-time management position requires full flexibility, including the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays with a varied schedule.

  • Must possess a thorough understanding of all styles of food and beverage service.

  • A person who embodies the persona of the ultimate coach and motivator, bringing out the best in others by setting clear goals and expectations, providing consistent feedback and support, and treating others with respect and professionalism.

  • A charismatic individual with a sense of humor and style that is commensurate with the culture and expectations of a friendly, fun, and supportive membership and a team of associates.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Maintain high ethical and moral standards.

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES :

  • Previous experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a private club or upscale hospitality environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and restaurant management software.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • ServSafe Food Handlers Certification

  • TIPs Certification

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (With or without accommodation)

    •      Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.

  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, bending, twisting, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, sitting, carrying, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.

WAGE RANGE: $66,000 - $70,000 annually
