Manufacturing Engineer II - Hydraulics Machining

The Troy plant operates Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:20 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Process leadership for hydraulics, machining, and automated processes associated with this.

  • Drive to improve existing operations for safety, quality, cost and delivery improvements.

  • Propose improvements to department/plant operations through manufacturing engineering analysis of existing operations compared to future requirements based on capacity, cost reduction, safety and/or risk avoidance opportunities.

  • Implementation of new processes, including equipment specification, procurement, coordination of installation, process capability, training, process documentation and production startup.

  • Assist is product introduction process with respect to cost estimation, process development, and prototype manufacture

  • Direct production departments using root cause analysis to identify and eliminate production opportunities. Develop training and be able to support other plant initiatives as required.

  • Support processes resulting from process improvement, part changes, changing capacities, etc.

Qualifications

  • Four-year Engineering degree OR a two-year Engineering degree with seven years of work experience is required OR no degree with 16 years of relevant experience along with a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have valid driving privileges.

  • Requires good organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to support and mentor Process Technicians, Supervisors, and others.

  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills specific to manufacturing processes.

  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to lead the discussion, meeting, project, etc., and communicate across all levels of the organization.

  • Must be able to lead cross-functional teams and manage small to medium projects.

  • Technical skills and training such as CNC programming, CAD layout, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), process capability theory, and statistical process control are preferred.
