Job Summary:

The Donor Impact Officer reports to the Senior Donor Impact Officer and works with members of the Advancement Communications team to implement successful internal and external communications across the Institute Advancement division, with a specific emphasis on all stewardship-related communications and support. The Donor Impact Officer plays a key role in executing these communications through drafting, editing and proofing internal and external messaging and content for electronic and print distribution, including IA websites, social media, emails, and print publications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field

  • Two (2) or more years of related writing experience in a development or marketing environment

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience writing for distribution in multiple types of communication channels

  • Experience working to support donor relations or stewardship

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to craft and proofread a variety of internal and external communications

  • Attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communications.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Proficient in the use of content management software (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) technology and other relevant systems and software (e.g. Smartsheet, WordPress, iModules, etc.)

  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to apply project management skills and collaborate with a variety of different internal and external stakeholders.

  • Planning, organizing and effective time management skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives

  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems

Shift:

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Travel:

Occasional overnight travel may be required (10% or less)

Driving:

Incidental driving possible, but not required

Starting Salary/Rate:

Expected hiring range: $59,000 - $63,000

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting and cannot be exceeded.
