Position Summary:
The Certified Nurse Aide applies and demonstrates all knowledge and skills learned in the Nurse Aide Training Program and as directed and supervised by the Certified Nurse Aide Instructor.
Assumes specific duties involving direct resident care upon successful demonstration of required skills as taught and supervised by the Instructor in a classroom and clinical setting.
Successfully pass the NYS Certified Nurse Aide Exam composed of both computer based written exam and a clinical skills exam monitored by a registered nurse evaluator.

Education Requirements:
Must be able to read, write and speak English; High School Diploma or equivalent life-experience preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a sincere desire to serve others.
Experience Requirements:
Experience in service delivery in the health care, business or domestic field is preferred.
Must be able to attend the 4 weeks Certified Nurse Aide Training Course. Day Shift, 37.5 hours a week for 4 weeks, 8a – 4p; 3 weeks in a classroom setting and 1 week in a clinical setting.

Principal Responsibilities:
Attend and complete the Certified Nurse Aide Training course, which addresses all areas of care rendered to a given population (i.e. geriatric) within the scope of practice of a Certified Nurse Aide.
This will encompass biological, psychological and social elements at the beginning level in a health care setting where aides are employed.
Responsible for completing work assignments, being prompt, prepared for class and report as scheduled, and maintaining good attendance.
Learn the knowledge and skills required for a Certified Nurse Aide through in both a classroom and clinical setting.
Adhere to all rules and/or policies governing student conduct and standards of behavior. Successfully pass the NYS Certified Nurse Aide Exam in order to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant; composed of both computer based written exam and a clinical skills exam monitored by a registered nurse evaluator.
Other duties as assigned.
Pay Range: $17.25 - $22.00
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
