Russell Sage College Assistant Professor of Biology and Health Sciences in Troy, New York

The undergraduate Biology and Health Sciences department at Russell Sage College invites applications for a 9-month, full time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, tenure track or Professor of Practice effective Fall 2024, depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities include teaching lectures and laboratories in general biology, along with molecular type courses such as genetics and molecular biology. The ideal candidate will also teach a section of research methods. Having the background to teach ethics regarding biology or medicine is a bonus! Prior undergraduate teaching experience in these areas will enhance the candidate's application. All courses offered by the department will be delivered in person. Candidates should anticipate that their course load will be 21 credits per year (labs are equal to three-credits). A successful candidate will be able to mentor research students in addition to teaching. All faculty in the department advise students beginning their second year at Russell Sage College under the guidance of a mentor. Salary is commensurate with experience.

The estimated base academic year salary for this position is $50,000, commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements:

The successful applicant will possess an academic doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in the Biological Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
