Henry Ford Health System Sr Embryologist - 40 hrs - Days - in Troy, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Works independently to perform advanced technical/clinical and research duties in the

embryology laboratory. Interacts directly with physicians and uses own judgment in

making decisions regarding lab procedures. Interfaces with the research and ancillary

components of the IVF/Reproductive Program to advance laboratory technologies.

Participates in the day-to-day oversight and training of Embryologists.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Documents and reports various data elements (entry and retrieval) from database.

  2. Documents all aspects of laboratory procedure in written and computerized

    transcription formats (includes data involving clinical embryology and andrology

    procedures, laboratory equipment monitoring, media and supply testing and embryo

    and sperm cryostorage).

  3. Performs data collection from computerized files or patient charts, statistical

    analysis.

  4. Assists in the preparation of routine and ad hoc analyses of data relating to

    performance of the laboratory and individual technologists.

  5. Participates in the harvesting and preparation of media or tissue specimens for

    analytic purposes.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a biological science. Master’s degree preferred.

    • Five (5) years of experience as an Embryologist performing basic and advanced

    embryology techniques with experience in in-vitro fertilization.
