Here’s Where You Come In

As our Human Resource Generalist, you will support the Midwest East Region (Michigan and Indiana) with a staff of about 350 employees. Our region has grown tremendously over the last 5 years, creating the need for an expanded human resources team. You will report directly to our regional Human Resource Director and alongside our regional Talent Acquisition Manager to support the employee lifecycle. Your focus will be on the employee experience and engagement from new hires through retirement. You will act as a strategic business partner to the HR and leadership team, helping us create an environment where everyone loves where they work. You’ll also need to balance those responsibilities with various transactional HR duties such as the entry and tracking of tasks in the Workday employee system, filing of electronic documents, and coordination with the onboarding team.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Benefits Administration: Become a SME on our core benefits to articulate our offerings and answer basic questions for staff, troubleshooting concerns alongside our Benefits team.

  • HR Reporting & Analysis : Run various reports in Workday around people metrics to support business decisions around hiring, onboarding and various talent initiatives.

  • Payroll & Compensation: Support accurate FLSA coding of our employees to ensure staff are appropriately coded. Supply compensation and pay data to support budget decisions.

  • Employee Onboarding : Evaluate our effectiveness in our onboarding procedures with the goal of continuous improvement. Follow our onboarding core processes from offer through first 90 days.

  • Employee Engagement: Consistently demonstrate our core values and be committed to the protection of our culture, with the goal of helping our staff love where they work. Be an active member and supporter of our various culture committees, supporting year-round philanthropic, diversity, and engagement initiatives across our region. Solicit and take action on employee feedback to make us better. Influence outcomes through established relationships with employees, leaders, and coworkers

  • Administrative: Assist with the management and entry of tasks within the human capital management system (Workday) such as position creation, employee termination, job changes, and other related transactions as may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or Business Administration

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Society of Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation desirable

  • Proven ability to work with remote locations using technology such as Zoom and Teams

  • Exceptional organizational skills, follow up skills, and attention to detail

  • Track record of developing and maintaining strong, trusting relationships with clients at all levels of the organization

  • Knowledge and experience with Workday or similar employee platforms

  • Project management experience

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Excellent initiative and intuitiveness

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint

  • Must have the ability to travel up to 25% of the time, with pockets of additional travel regionally across Indiana and Michigan to support various offices

  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
