Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Troy, MI

Position Overview: We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support various projects in the surrounding area. The primary projects include paving, infrastructure, industrial, residential, and commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site investigations, data collection, and analysis to provide sound engineering recommendations.

• Coordinate projects, manage data, prepare proposals, consult with clients, and write reports.

• Spend 60 to 80% of time in-office, with the remainder in the field.

• Direct and execute geotechnical project assignments, including field exploration, engineering analysis, report preparation, and laboratory services.

• Develop and maintain client relationships.

• Perform field and laboratory testing, data collection, and interpretation.

• Coordinate and manage projects, overseeing junior engineers and technicians in the field.

• Maximize profitability by ensuring appropriate budgeting, pricing, and utilization of resources and cost controls.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering preferably with a geotechnical emphasis.

• Experience in geotechnical engineering.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proven project management skills.

• Willingness to work flexible hours/shifts as needed to support project/client needs.

• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

• Proficient in computer skills, including spreadsheet development and report generation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Successful completion of the FE exam with plans to obtain a PE license.

• Experience with paving and structure projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.08
