SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE

The position of Facility Technician 1 is the primary person responsible for day-to-day Maintenance and Reliability activities for the Facility. This position shall primarily handle all Preventive, Predictive and Corrective maintenance activities, with a focus on improving machine and equipment availability. The Facility Technician 1 should have good listening and customer service skills to be able to build trust with the Operations departments to find the Root Cause of reactive maintenance issues. This position is a gateway into the maintenance department and requires some basic understanding of manufacturing practices, mechanical and electrical knowledge, and a will to learn.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute tasks as assigned by Facility Supervisor

  • Conduct basic duties related to building maintenance and waste disposal

  • Trouble shoot various problems and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence

  • Ability to learn to operate mobile equipment-forklift, manlift, etc.

  • Understand/learn the nature and functionality of manufacturing processes

  • Effectively communicate and notify supervisor when issues arise

  • Learn and gain ability to work with the maintenance CMMS system

  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor

  • Follow all safety and compliance requirements

  • Perform weekly Preventative Maintenance on all shooting ranges

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic communication skills both verbal and written

  • Mathematical skills-ability to calculate weights, liquid levels, etc.

  • Able to work safely and make quality decisions

  • Willing to raise hand when you are not familiar with the task

  • Ability to work as a part of a team, Facility Technician 1 will have direct supervision

  • Basic knowledge of computer systems

  • Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change due to regulatory and business needs

  • Need to be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task

  • Ability to follow directions on given task

  • Must be able to pass PPE fit testing requirements

  • Must take an annual blood lead level test to ensure inorganic lead is within Kimber’s exposure limits

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Prior manufacturing experience

    Preferred:

  • Minimum of 3 years building maintenance experience

  • PLC, HMI, Advanced Hydraulic or similar specialized Industrial Maintenance Training

  • Ability to execute basics of TPM, PM/Pd.M. and other modern maintenance practices & committed to implementing these practices to form a World Class Manufacturing Facility

  • Experience driving mobile equipment

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    This position does not require travel.

    OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts, weekends, and holidays may be required to meet customer demands. There may be little or no prior notice of overtime work. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.

    While performing the duties of the job the employee works in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. This position needs to be able to work in various weather conditions (hot, cold, inside, outside) and at heights (on ladders, scissor lifts, booms).

  • Able to lift 70 lbs. (Occasionally) and 30+ lbs. on a routine basis

  • Able to work in confined spaces, under, over, or inside machines

  • Able to wear all associated PPE (respirators, Tyvek suits, rubber / latex gloves, etc.)

    WORK AUTHORIZATION

    This position requires compliance with ITAR requirement. Must be a “U.S. Person” (per ITAR 120.15) and are required to show proof substantiating this upon being hired.
