Job Summary: Infusion Nurse

  • Start IV, monitor the infusion of the IV and appropriately log all medications for each IV, injections in the EMR system.

  • Evaluate the patient’s medical needs before, during and after the IV therapy.

  • Monitoring patient comfort level throughout the infusion to ensure that they are tolerating the treatment well

  • Ability to manage multiple IV patients at a time

  • Administer ordered therapies according to provider’s orders.

  • Manage patient calls and emails related to clinical questions.

  • Preparing equipment and supplies for infusion therapy and monitoring patients during infusions

  • Coordinate with Physician to ensure the integrity of patient records including the presence of the appropriate HIPAA Privacy Acknowledgement, consent forms, and other relevant information.

  • Ability to multi-task, work-role autonomy and independence, patient care, and relationships, teamwork, patient teaching, innovative thinking while providing excellent customer service.

  • Process of prescription refills as appropriate.

  • Provide assistance throughout office as needed

  • Administer medications and vitamins via intramuscular or subcutaneous injection.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Current RN License.

  • 2+ years’ experience in biologics, monoclonal antibodies, and medical oncology preferred.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 100 pounds to assist fallen patients.

  • Able to lift 10 pounds for routine performance of essential functions.

  • May be exposed to adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.) and chemical hazards.

  • May have long periods of sitting and/or standing and walking.
