Solution Architect - Customer Engagement Services and Capture and Content Services
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
This position supports the pursuit of new business and the implementation of newly won contracts. It begins with acquisition of customer requirements through early engagement and creates winning solutions and profitable business contracts aligned to Xerox’s portfolio.
Candidates should expect to work with clients to understand their current and desired environment and to configure compelling Xerox solutions.
Candidates should expect to work across multiple technology platforms including data processing, document composition, transactional print, mail delivery function, document digitization, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) other emerging technologies.
The Solution Architect is focused on:
Maintaining expertise in the services Xerox offers and the products and solutions that are used in the delivery of those services.
Maintaining a broad awareness of the development of technology and services within the Customer Communication Management, transactional print industry, and document digitization processes.
Crafting and documenting compelling, standardized & repeatable solutions and services in response to bids and tenders received.
Working as part of cross-functional teams of Stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts contributing to the development of the solution.
Gathering solution component costs and contributing to the development of the business case.
Complying with corporate governance processes to ensure that solutions are fully documented and have the approval of relevant stakeholders.
Supporting service transition into live service delivery including configuration of both software and hardware components.
Supporting the Change Management Process and revising the solution as necessary based on changing client requirements.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Working in close collaboration with Sales, Bid Management, Consultants, IT, Human Resources, Commercial, Service Delivery and external partners, the Solution Architect will orchestrate and enable high-value deal wins in both competitive and non-competitive proposal situations. The Solution Architect will manage and lead the solution architecture work stream through deal closure and transition to handover to the service delivery teams.
The Solution Architect is accountable for comprehensive, end-to-end solution design, deployment oversight, documentation and compliance with all governance requirements.
Extensive travel may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analytical skills – Map and understand client document workflows, analyze client data, identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. Strong business acumen is critical.
Bid/Sales Support – Works with Sales and Bid Managers in the presales phase of service(s) contracts. Assists with the preparation and delivery of service contract proposals, bids and tenders. Establishes customer requirements for a solution building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders in Xerox, customer organization and partners. Plays a key role in influencing the customer to choose Xerox.
Solution Design Authority - Takes responsibility for all components input to solution design as well as to qualification and business approval meetings and tollgates. Ultimately accountable for the development of sharp, economically aligned, deliverable solutions.
Cost and Risk – Defines the approach to solution development, controlling scope and the work of the solution design team to ensure an acceptable cost structure. Able to articulate the entire solution to a client or partner on a technical and business level, clearly identifying benefits, assumptions and risks.
Requirements and Integrated Design – Designs innovative solutions and can manage the work of different specialists – including partners and third parties - contributing to the design and implementation. Works with Xerox pursuit and commercial team to develop solution and business case.
Re-use of Knowledge – Proactively shares knowledge with colleagues and provides feedback to enable continuous improvement and learning from experience. Updates and improves standard solution architect methodologies and collaterals based on learning and customer requirements/feedback. Promotes knowledge sharing with other stakeholders.
Development Focus – Takes responsibility for own professional development. Additionally, contributes to the development of Solution Architect expertise and methodologies within Xerox by sharing experience and presenting to colleagues at team events.
BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Background – 5 years of experience in a related field is preferred such as business analysis, document imaging technology, transactional print methodologies, IDP, AI/ML, RPA and other emerging technologies.
Experience – Managing or implementing multi-channel communications solutions. Onboarding and automating transactional print and mailing applications and with particular emphasis on the migration of paper-based communications to digital delivery.
The successful candidate will be a part of a team that supports client requirements across the entire range of Document Imaging Services and Intelligent Document Processing offerings – from basic imaging and data extraction to digital mail, to cloud services and infrastructures, to document processing and process automation leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence.
This role requires knowledge of document imaging and processing as well as some, or all the following areas and technologies:
Document Imaging, OCR / ICR, document management systems (DMS) to store, retrieve, and manage digital documents.
Commercial Print workflows (Pre-press, Press, and Post-Press)
Process and workflow mapping
Data analytics
Transactional and promotional communications
Develop templates, rules, and workflows for automated document generation and distribution. (Ideally with experience of the Quadient Inspire Suite, XMPIE, Exstream, Adobe, or similar )
Production workflow automation
Ensure digitized documents are accessible, secure, and compliant with data protection regulations.
Supporting Skills
Can articulate the principles of data protection and privacy laws including GDPR and demonstrate their impact on solution design.
Understands the principles of commercial business case development and P&L management.
Has strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to describe the technical features and business benefits of solutions proposed.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent Microsoft M365 application skills.
Qualifications (desirable but not essential)
Prince II / PMP and familiarity with project management techniques
Microsoft certifications
