Position Summary
This position oversees the day to day operations of the Testing Center including supervising proctors, overseeing placement testing, NMC tests, certification exams, and exams for other colleges and universities and community members seeking industry certifications. Collects and analyzes data on student success. The Testing Coordinator also provides general support for student success efforts.
Qualifications
Required
Associates Degree
Proven experience with Microsoft Windows-based computer programs and applications(including but not limited to MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Explorer-web browsing), including Google Workspace
Minimum of 2 years' experience in an office management or related role.
Preferred
One year of management or supervisory experience
One year of experience using Starfish/MySuccess
One year experience utilizing Banner or other student database system
Experience working in the education industry Microsoft Office Specialist Excel certification
Essential Responsibilities
(Critical) Hires, trains, and maintains proctoring staff schedules; fills in when other schedules cannot accommodate for illness or other absences. Oversees the test proctors in accordance with NMC's policies and applicable laws. Assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards, recognizing employees; and addresses performance problems or gaps in conjunction with the Student Success Coordinator.
(Critical) Administer and proctor certification exams for testing venues according to their specific client requirements.
(Critical) Maintain record of administered tests and submit monthly reports to relevant areas and testing companies.
(Critical) Responsible for maintaining academic integrity of the testing center. Works with proctors to notify faculty of testing irregularities and suspected cheating. Enters these incidents in Maxient for the student judicial process.
(Critical) Maintains testing certifications for the Student Success Center and oversees employee training for all necessary certifications.
(Critical) Monitoring raised flags and kudos in My Success and assist the Student Success Coordinator in resolving these flags.
(Critical) Updates Student Success Center webpages.
(Critical) Communicates and coordinates with NMC faculty, other college and university testing centers, and community members in order to accommodate their testing needs.
(Critical) Communicates with students and staff, or works with proctors to communicate, about math placement, enters test scores in BANNER when automation is not working. Contacts new admits (both email and phone calls) on the orientation spreadsheets, and/or work with proctors to do this, to ensure they understand their placement and opportunities for improving their placement.
(Critical) Researches technology solutions and troubleshoots when systems fail or other solutions may benefit our faculty and students testing needs. Monitors balance between in-person testing needs and online proctoring to ensure staffing levels are appropriate to ensure academic integrity of the testing process.
(Critical) Provides other general support for the Student Success Center, on our campuses, and in our community.
