Actalent Electrical Engineer in Towson, Maryland

Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with over 4 years of expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design. The successful candidate will be responsible for all levels of electrical design, including the development of construction documents and the design of complex electrical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles. The role also involves overseeing designs through project construction and completion, effectively communicating with engineers, project managers, and clients, and conducting field visits to accurately document existing conditions. Additionally, the candidate will complete electrical calculations, such as load studies, voltage drop, panel/transformer/feeder loading, generator sizing, illumination levels, and design electrical system devices, distribution components, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems applicable to the project type. Proficiency in Revit is required, while knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of electrical design including the development of construction documents.

  • Design complex electrical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles.

  • Oversee designs through project construction and completion.

  • Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.

  • Conduct field visits to accurately document existing conditions.

  • Complete electrical calculations including load studies, voltage drop, panel/transformer/feeder loading, generator sizing, illumination levels, etc.

  • Design electrical system devices, distribution components, lighting, fire alarm, and special systems applicable to the project type.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical engineering

  • Electrical design

  • Proficiency in Revit

  • 4+ years of industry-related experience in the design of commercial, government, academic, R&D, multi-family, industrial, and similar projects

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degreed Engineer with MEP experience

  • EIT accreditation

  • LEED accreditation preferred

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.00 - $55.91
