Robert Half Plant Controller in Torrance, California

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Plant Controller at our location in Torrance, California. This role is crucial in our industry, focusing on the management and oversight of our plant's financial operations. The successful candidate will be expected to handle various responsibilities, including maintaining and improving our accounting systems, and ensuring financial compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the plant's financial operations, ensuring all accounting functions are performed accurately and efficiently.

• Utilize accounting software systems such as 3M, ADP - Financial Services, Eaton, and Epicor to manage and track financial data.

• Process and manage accounts payable (AP) ensuring all financial obligations are met in a timely manner.

• Conduct annual budget preparations and revisions, working closely with other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Perform regular audits to confirm the accuracy of financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.

• Manage budget processes, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of budget plans.

• Handle cost accounting tasks to assist in financial decision-making processes.

• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting to ensure accurate reflection of production costs.

• Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management.

• Develop, implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures ensuring compliance with regulations. Requirements • Proficiency in 3M, Eaton, and Epicor software

• Sound knowledge of Accounting Software Systems and ADP - Financial Services

• Understanding of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience with Annual Budget and Budget Processes

• Familiarity with Auditing practices

• Proficiency in Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Cost Accounting

• Ability to manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

• Experience with creating financial statements

• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
