Description
We are looking for a Controller to join our team in Torrance, California. This role is instrumental in the financial management of the organization, overseeing the accounting close process, facilitating the use of accounting software, and performing technical accounting research. The Controller will also play a pivotal role in financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee timely, accurate, and efficient accounting close on a regular basis
• Ensure accuracy of the company’s financial status and investigate any discrepancies
• Manage daily accounting functions including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, treasury management, procurement, and general ledger accounting
• Facilitate the accounting department's use of CRM and various other company applications, integrating software into accounting processes and procedures
• Perform technical accounting issue research and resolution as necessary
• Assist in the preparation and completion of the fiscal year budgeting process, evaluate business unit performance against budget, and develop forecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with all state and federal regulations
• Coordinate the creation of periodic financial reporting packages for company leadership
• Manage the annual financial audit process performed by our independent CPA firm when applicable
• Develop, analyze, document, and implement internal controls
• Maintain and enhance accounting and finance policies, processes, and procedures to comply with all state and federal regulations
• Seek opportunities to revise or create new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department.

Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solutions is required
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) guidelines and regulations is necessary
• Expertise in handling accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Previous experience with auditing and budget processes is expected
• Proficiency in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, and Standard Cost Accounting is required
• Experience in Month End Close activities, Month-end Journal Entries, and preparing Month-end Reports is essential
• Ability to perform Monthly Account Reconciliation
• Proficiency in analyzing and reviewing Financial Statements
• Experience in Financial Statement Audits, Financial Statement Preparation, and Financial Statements Consolidation is necessary
• Ability to prepare and review Monthly Financial Statements and Year-end Financial Statements
• Should have a sound understanding of Consolidated Financial Statements.
