The Technology Delivery /Partner Management role leads the development of technical solutions that adhere to enterprise architectural and technology delivery principles. Provides deep technical leadership and development experience in end-to-end execution of product team solutions. Partners with business, project management and technology groups to effectively communicate technology decisions and drive business results, ensuring alignment with the organization's Target Operating Model (TOM), technology roadmap and approach, and enterprise architecture/ technologies. There's room to grow in all of it.

About This Role

We are looking for someone to manage, lead or oversee a team of Business Systems Analysts or Specialists in providing a broad range of business services and technical solutions. You will work in close partnership with ambitious business stakeholders and technology teams on a broad range of initiatives varying in risk, size and complexity.

Customer

  • Work closely with partners and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet technical direction, requirements, budget, scalability, and architectural goals, ensuring all risks and impacts are considered.

  • Leverage deep technology expertise to support in the creation and delivery of end-to-end technical solutions and help to support driving business outcomes.

  • Participate in business planning discussions and define the technology delivery approach, and leverage synergies across the various teams and applications.

  • Act as lead expert to ensure compliance with enterprise and segment standards (e.g. TOM; enterprise assets)

  • Monitor and manage incident escalation process; work with project managers and business partners as needed to efficiently and effectively resolve.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to minimize and reduce costs in collaboration with TAO; identify appropriate solutions and support the deployment of innovative product and software solutions

  • Collaborate with partners and project teams on software quality assurance reviews

  • Drive and execute on target state and roadmap-based investments

  • Execute on strategic solution planning activities or POC

  • Work with partners across Technology and apply deep understanding of relevant business needs to identify and leverage synergies across the various areas and projects

Shareholder

  • Anticipate internal/external business and regulatory issues; recommends process/product/organizational improvements

  • Manage resource requirements and assignment, ensuring project milestones are met and monitoring to keep projects on schedule and within budget

  • Oversee business expenses and FTE plans and ensure controls in place to monitor, effectively track and manage to established plans

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of external development, technology and emerging solutions, market conditions and their impact

  • Proactively identify emerging technologies and innovative solutions for building more robust platform domains

  • Interact with governance and control groups, (e.g. regulatory and operational risk, compliance and audit) to provide subject matter expertise and consult on risk issues / items relating to technology and tools

  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary

  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/ points of interest

  • Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for quality engineering best practices and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit;

  • Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques

  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team

  • Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities

  • Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging quality engineering best practices.

  • Work collaboratively with the team and leadership to proactively identify and resolve issues related to product quality

  • Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.

  • Contribute to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce

  • Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally

  • Accountable for direct or indirect day to day management of a team of IT professionals (including both permanent and contract resources) in supporting assigned business clients / internal partners / stakeholder needs and requirements

Breadth & Depth

  • Lead technical solutions for 2 or more pods and/or at the product group level

  • Expert knowledge of specific domain or range of experience in technology domains, including understanding of in-house and third-party architecture integration frameworks, technology, tools, processes, and procedures, as well as organization issues

  • Expert knowledge of TD applications, systems, networks, innovation, design activities, best practices, business / organization, Bank standards, regulatory and compliance standards, and may fulfill a governance role

  • In depth technical skills and a strong understanding of the team's product, technology and issues

  • Provides leadership, mentoring and guidance to others

  • Is a lead contributor; may participate in development of business strategy

  • Can coordinate work/projects outside own area of expertise within their line of business; combine projects within same space or same nature across portfolio

  • Ensures solutions are consistent with departmental objectives

  • Generally, reports to an executive

Job Requirements :

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate.

  • Graduate Degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of development and technology delivery experience with Agile Delivery Experience preferred.

  • Must have skills: Project delivery lead experience in mid to large scale projects.

  • Nice to Have: Application development lifecycle knowledge, public cloud component knowledge.

  • Experience coordinating and prioritizing multiple activities at once.

  • Strength in developing effective relationships with different business units, portfolio and project managers, vendors.

  • Familiarity with Cloud Governance, Vendor Management, and Infrastructure Technology processes is an asset.

  • Ability to present and make recommendations to senior management and executives.

  • Readiness to assume indirect resource management responsibilities, prepared to manage a delivery team of 8-10 people.

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to foster a culture that encourages productivity, innovation, process improvement, teamwork and a high level of professionalism.
