What you’ll be doing

As the Senior Manager, Wealth Compliance you are accountable for an effective governance, control, and risk management process supporting the CIBC Private Wealth digital, marketing and communications initiatives. This includes reviewing advisor and business marketing to ensure adherence to industry regulations (CIRO) and acceptable standards of business ethics and conduct. This role will also be responsible for managing the governance process – ensuring compliance across a number of partner teams. The marketing materials this role would review include marking campaigns, product/program launches, vendor evaluation, communications and event materials and more.

How you’ll succeed

  • Regulatory/Compliance Supervision - Major areas of activity include governance, monitoring compliance with applicable laws, legislation, regulations & CIBC internal policies/standards/guidelines. Obtain assistance from Tax, Legal, Compliance and Executive Director as required to address root cause. Perform/coordinate the various centralized supervision functions. Follow up on any questionable marketing material. Identify, analyze and implement courses of action to ensure all regulatory requirements and timelines are met.

  • Complex Problem Solving – Leverage training and governance experience (must be IIROC/CIRO Supervisor) to independently ensure compliance while supporting marketing objectives. Ongoing review of processes and procedures to find and drive efficiencies and optimal ways of working, including approvals, workflows, and storage.

  • Critical Thinking - Exercise judgment on matters of significance including making recommendations to management and marketing teams in regards to approach or options to accomplish marketing objectives and driving outcomes.Manage the overall optimal marketing and regulatory workflows/process for key growth channels including digital marketing, social media/selling, advertising and proposals. Ensure brand, disclaimers and other regulatory (CIRO) and reputation elements are aligned to the internal and external regulatory requirements.

  • Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with CIBC peers, colleagues and vendors in a variety of roles/functions to efficiently and effectively work together. Determine methods or approach to work and establish own priorities and timelines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 7+ years of experience in marketing governance as well as extensive experience within the financial industry, preferably within wealth management. You must be a CIRO (IIROC) Supervisor and governance will ensure compliance with Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) formally IIROC and MDFA and CIBC marketing guidelines.

  • It's an asset if you are fluent in French.
