Job Description

The Walmart Data Engineer design, develop, and implement data and analytics cloud-based analytics platforms (DAP) and pipelines that acquire, cleanse, transform, and load data from a wide variety of sources.

Responsibilities for Data Engineer:

  • assemble large complex data sets which meet functional and non-functional business requirements

  • develop within existing designs of various solutions in Microsoft Azure environment to help the business get valuable insights

  • partner with data asset managers, architects, and development leads to ensure a technical solution provides data which is fit for use and in line with architecture blueprints

  • contribute to and leverage coding standards and best practices to ensure services and components are efficient and reusable

  • identify, design, and implement internal process improvements

  • work on automation and optimization of internal processes in Azure

  • influence the future of these new technologies and the ways in which P&G uses them

  • work with multifunctional and multinational teams within and outside of P&G

  • focus on key business cases development within Data & Analytics + MS Azure

  • work on agile products using cloud solutions

  • defines Launchpad use standards and best practices for the Walmart team, working with the Walmart launchpad end users to maximize the value of Walmart Launchpad

Responsibility of Launchpad Product Manager:

  • translate customer needs into valuable, feasible, and usable user stories, personas, user journeys, and user flows

  • drive the digital product strategy, define the roadmap, and guide the digital product team on "what" should be built

  • collaborate with partners to prioritize the product backlog, aligning with the defined roadmap and available engineering capacity

  • make data-driven decisions based on complex, multivariable environments

  • develop and run experiments to validate or disprove concepts

  • track project costs to meet budget

  • provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders and the project board

  • assist to manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables

  • utilize industry and company best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

Responsibilities of Walmart Ops and Stewardship Champion

  • subject matter expert for specific IT systems and processes supported by the Walmart Operations, Stewardship, and Product team

  • responsible to ensure those processes and systems are operating to expected standards

  • involved in defining and enforcing principles around which systems and processes are owned by Walmart Operations, Stewardship, and Product team

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in Python/PySpark and SQL/SparkSQL programming skills.

  • Experience in Big Data/ETL (Spark and Databricks preferred).

  • Experience in implementing projects & solutions in Azure cloud

  • Knowledge and / or experience with using or building CI/CD tools.

  • Knowledge of AAS, DAX and PowerBI front end preferred.

  • Previous experience or understanding of Data Models.

  • Knowledge of Agile SCRUM and DevOps methodologies.

  • English proficiency

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

  • Business Analysis: understand business decisions and value expected from the data.

  • Foundation in IT systems development, integration, and knowledge of how data architecture fits in the overall life cycle and architecture patterns.

  • Autonomous to be self-paced and deliver in timing, based on business need/priority

  • Basic project management training and certification (SPM) and / or Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) preferred
