Canadian Tire Space Planning Specialist in Toronto, Ontario
What you’ll do
The Space Planning Specialist is responsible for the creation, analysis and timely delivery of impactful and visually appealing Planograms and merchandising programs, which will drive sales, margins, enable efficient store operations and provide an exceptional in store customer experience. The Space Planning Specialist leads Category Business Managers, Category Business Analysts and other cross functional teams through planograms builds ensuring timelines and standards are adhered to while continuing to evolve ways of working through optimized processes and is responsible for the creation and timely delivery of impactful and visually appealing Planograms and merchandising programs, which will drive sales, margins, enable efficient store operations and provide an exceptional in store customer experience.
Plan, prepare and execute pre-planning and kick-off meetings in support of the category merchandising line review process.
Demonstrate working knowledge of category merchandising strategies and priorities which will include conducting research and leveraging an understanding of the competitive landscape for appropriate Planograms.
Identify Planogram point-of-purchase and fixture requirements prior to Planogram build.
Analyze and recommend improvements to meet and exceed stated Planogram space productivity financials and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Physically test, adjust and perform quality control checks prior to finalizing and submitting Planograms.
Create relevant store execution communications.
Prepare materials for various meetings and participate in the facilitation of meetings, including Associate Dealer meetings.
Ensure store testing and other category management support areas are organized and functional.
What you bring
Post-secondary (diploma or degree) education in a similar and or a related field
Minimum 2 years of merchandising experience in retail, marketing, and/or advertising field
Minimum 2 years of visual presentation experience
Proficient with MS Office suite, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of space management software such as Spaceman or JDA an asset
An understanding of Canadian Tire’s merchandising practices and principles is an asset
