Position Description

Senior Project Manager: Brain and Mental Health Programs

Dedicated exclusively to children and their families, The Hospital for Sick Children is one of the largest and most respected paediatric healthcare centres in the world.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a world-class organization on initiatives aimed at improving service delivery such that patients, families and caregivers seamlessly experience across all involved programs within the Brain and Mental Health Portfolio. This will be achieved through a number of projects or work streams focused on coordinated access, program design, clinical pathways, process improvement, information accessibility, stakeholder engagement, data management and evaluation.

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Brain and Mental Health Program, the Senior Project Manager will play a lead role in organizing and supporting large scale project plans for strategic, operational and quality improvement initiatives that focus on the key directives and objectives of Program Strategy.

Key Accountabilities

· Management of strategic, operational and priority projects focused on program planning and design, process improvement and data analysis to provide support and direction around decision making for key initiatives within the portfolio

· Hands on leadership and execution for project activities across all project phases:, planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, evaluation and development of sustainable plans

· Building effective and collaborative relationships with various project stakeholders within SickKids

· Meaningfully engaging with stakeholders to ensure to obtain input on scope, approach, deliverables, timelines, and budget

· Utilizing standardized project management methodology to drive activities that achieve the agreed upon project deliverables

· Resource management for assigned project management resources

· Budget development and tracking for project and operational work

Here's What You'll Get To Do:

NOTE: The Senior Project Manager will be the key point person for the project and be responsible for hands-on development of project deliverables.

· Working closely with the leadership team and key stakeholders to develop the project approach/strategy and plans;

· Ensuring the voices of patients, families, caregivers and other stakeholders are integrated into the approach/strategy and plans

· Identifying project objectives, milestones, and deliverables and working with the relevant teams to successfully achieve them

· Understanding and documenting current state and assessing the type and degree of change required to achieve goals

· Developing and implementing fulsome communication, engagement, training and education assessments and plans

· Conducting benefits realization/evaluation activities

· Identifying risks and mitigation strategies and working with the team to resolve the issues

· Project reporting to internal and external stakeholders

· Facilitating working group, focus group, and/or steering committees meetings

· Developing and delivering project presentations for various stakeholders both internal and external

· Synthesizing literature and writing reports including business cases and briefing notes

· Coordinating and collaborating with team members within the Program and across SickKids as necessary

· Establishing priorities, coordinating and supporting teams members in their roles

Here's What You'll Need:

Essential Requirements

· Possess a university degree, in health care or business field

· Graduate education preferred preferably in a discipline relevant field e.g. digital health, health informatics, health administration, etc.

· Minimum 5 years demonstrated progressive and relevant experience in project management and/or hospital administration with increasing complexity and scope

· Experience working in a healthcare environment

· A strong understanding of hospital operations

· Experience successfully managing healthcare projects in a clinical setting

· Knowledge and experience with change management

· Excellent interpersonal skills

· Experience working with diverse clients and stakeholders

· Experience working with direct reports, indirect reports and executives

· Change management skills and experience

· Strong administrative, organizational and planning skills

· Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills

· Strong leadership and coaching qualities with the ability to engage, motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and work collaboratively to achieve overarching project goals

· Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt and manage changing priorities

· Advanced level of competency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

· Demonstrate commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion objectives

· Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and successfully manage in a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple, and shifting priorities

Assets

· PMP certified

· Business development and/or strategic planning experience

· Vendor and contract management experience

· Experience successfully managing software implementations

· Hybrid (onsite and remote work model) - necessary technology provided for remote work.
