Right now, we are looking for talented individuals to join our winning Wireless Voice Networks Engineering team where you will have a chance to innovate, grow, and do what matters. This team is accountable for the development and evolution of Voice wireless network technologies. This includes CS and IMS Voice Core platforms to support Voice and Messaging services.

Reporting to the Manager of Wireless Voice Engineering, the Senior Network Designer will work as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to drive the design, development, testing, engineering, implementation, and evolution of core platforms within the voice engineering domain.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage projects as Technical Leader related to the deployment of new platforms, services, and applications, including lifecycle management.

  • Manage Vendor relationships to complete the deliverables of the solution. (eg. review of quotes, scope of work documents, solution requirements, design specifications, acceptance test plans, MOPs, and roadmap of platform evolution).

  • Utilize cloud and virtualization tools to automate workflows, CNF/VNF platform lifecycle management, issue troubleshooting, integration validation, end-to-end testing, and KPI reporting.

  • Take full accountability and ownership in all standard DevOps deliverables (design, integration, testing, troubleshooting) for wireless voice IMS and SIP interconnects core platforms, including but not limited to the following:

  • Session Border Controller (Access SBC)

  • IMS Core: P/S/I/E - CSCF, BGCF, IBCF, ATCF, MMTel-AS, SCC-AS, MRFC, NAF, BSF, BGF, MRFP

  • CS core: MSC, MGW

  • Cloud Native (Docker/K8s) and hypervisor-based NFV environments and associated cloud tools

  • Author technical engineering documentation (eg. Engineering Design Specification Documents, Acceptance Test Plans, Work orders, and Method of Procedures (MoP) which facilitate configuration changes, software/hardware upgrades, validations, E2E service testing, and platform integration)

  • Work in a tight, highly motivated, team environment taking on leadership responsibility when necessary.

  • Coordinate with peer departments including Project Management, Network Operations, Network Planning, Product Development, IT, Engineering, Technology Development, etc. for end-to-end service integration and implementation.

What you have:

  • Minimum 4 years of technical experience and in-depth knowledge IMS and CS Voice functions and SIP protocol

  • Advanced experience with SIP protocol and ability to read SIP messages using tracing tools

  • Good-level knowledge of 3GPP, ETSI, and IEEE industry standards.

  • University Degree or equivalent in engineering/computer science discipline.

  • Core Competencies include Innovative and Creative thinking, Problem-Solving abilities, Adaptability, and Initiative.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, teamwork, and collaborative abilities with proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and with minimal supervision.

  • Proven ability to multi-task and deliver to meet tight deadlines.

  • Cloud certifications with Azure, AWS, and GCP would be an asset.

  • Scripting (python, shell) and sysadmin skills in Linux environments would be an asset

  • Working knowledge with VMWare, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, microservices, edge computing, orchestration, CI/CD pipeline integration, and workflow automation in a cloud environment would be an asset
