Manulife Senior Financial Analyst, Investor Relations in Toronto, Ontario
The Investor Relations (IR) team is primarily responsible for ongoing communication with the investment community including existing and prospective institutional shareholders, as well as sell side equity research analysts. The team’s mandate also includes providing market intelligence to internal stakeholders.
The Senior Financial Analyst - Investor Relations provides key analytical and marketing support to the IR team and would assist in a number of areas including monitoring and summarizing analyst and industry reports, conducting industry research and peer reviews, preparing materials for investor engagement events, as well as assisting in quarter end deliverables and special projects and initiatives.
Position Responsibilities:
Quarterly Analysis and Reporting: Summarize analysts' sentiments and reports pre- and post-earnings, analyze peer earnings calls, and prepare Board reports covering IR activities, goals, analyst sentiment, stock performance, and holdings.
Quarter end Reporting: Assist with drafting of earnings press releases, develop analyst slides, and speaking notes for earnings calls/webcasts, and other quarterly deliverables such as company fact sheets.
IR Website and Sharepoint Management: Manage content and aesthetics of the IR website, maintain IR Sharepoint content and user access, and lead Records Management within IR.
Market and Financial Analysis: Conduct research and market analysis using IR tools (e.g., Bloomberg, NASDAQ IRI), review communication materials to ensure best practices, and prepare materials for marketing road shows.
Strategic Projects and Initiatives: Initiate and complete strategic projects leveraging internal and external resources, assist with IR marketing efforts, maintaining investor targeting models, and develop short-term and long-term IR marketing plans.
Ad-hoc Requests and Special Projects: Participate in ad hoc or special projects as required, ensuring alignment with overall strategic goals and leveraging available resources.
Collaborate extensively with internal partners to collect input, communicate feedback and influence as required. Communicate with external stakeholders professionally as a representative of the company.
Required Qualifications:
One to three years of progressive work experience in the financial services industry;
Ability to learn quickly and act nimbly; demonstrated time management and organizational skills. Ability to work within tight and changing time constraints and to handle multiple tasks at one time;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high commitment to internal and external customer service;
Ability to use judgment and initiative in anticipating and solving issues;
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to leverage external data sources and tools to complete day-to-day activities; proficient with Microsoft tool set
Curiosity and aptitude to learn and adapt, with a continuous improvement mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting; CPA or CFA an asset;
Working understanding of the insurance and/or wealth asset management business and/or Manulife’s products and distribution strategies an asset;
Prior work experience directly in or adjacent to investor relations function an asset
Strong working knowledge of financial reporting required; management reporting skills an asset;
Familiarity with Bloomberg or NASDAQ IRI, prior experience in financial modeling and charting would be an asset

Salary range is expected to be between
$70,350.00 CAD - $117,250.00 CAD
