What You'll Be Doing

You will play a critical role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating data risks across the organization. Your responsibilities will encompass data governance, risk assessment, reporting, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of the enterprise’s Data & Records Management program.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You'll Succeed

  • Data Governance and Risk Management- Develop, implement, and maintain enhancements to the Data & Records Management program's governance framework. Act as a Subject Matter Expert for data & records risk assessments. Monitor adherence to data policies and standards, ensuring data quality and availability. Participate in the development, maintenance, and review of data & records management policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting- Collect, organize, and analyze risk data assessments to create reports and dashboards that provide insights into business performance and risk metrics. Design and develop reports and visualizations using tools like SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or other BI software. Perform ad hoc analysis to answer specific business questions and address data quality issues. Interpret data findings and translate them into actionable insights for decision-making. Present findings and reports to stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.

  • Project Management and Collaboration- Support strategic and enterprise-wide Data & Records Management initiatives. Manage assigned initiatives within your area of responsibility, ensuring effective implementation. Participate in project meetings, interacting and collaborating with team members and other departments. Provide consultative advice and guidance to Senior Records Officers, Data Stewards, and other stakeholders.

  • You have 4-6 years of experience in data governance, data analysis, or information management

  • You have a degree/diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Information Management, Data Management, Business Administration) preferred
