Role: R&D Program Manager

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, or, Fairport, NY, USA. Hybrid with 2 days travel to work required.

Your Impact

The Program Manager will bring in new products/systems from strategic identification through commercialization and production. They will work with the engineering team to remain aligned on scope, manage risks, handle project issues, provide multi-functional communications, and lead the project team to success by using Fortive Business Systems (FBS).

Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your proficiencies:

• Use agile practices and scrum framework to deliver critical customer-facing, enterprise system solutions.

• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver top-notch solutions to our global customers while building and maintaining strong working relationships across the organization.

• Gain a solid understanding of customer requirements and manage potential risks while controlling project timelines.

• Support and convey the importance of project documentation.

• Present project status to the executive leadership team.

• Establish project rules, standard methodologies, and budget control.

• Plan for the execution of quality assurance and organizational change.

• Actively report to the PMO Director the successes, areas for improvement and programs at risk in a timely manner to ensure corrective action.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science related field

• Extensive experience as an engineering Program Manager with a full understanding of Project Management processes across platform-level programs.

• Clear understating of lean product development and systems development practices and lifecycles.

• Ability to lead and work within multi-functional teams spanning multiple time zones.

• Desire to work with a structured, process-driven, and continuous improvement organization.

• Experience using Jira and Microsoft Suite, including MS Project.

• Ability to produce high-quality written reports and relevant presentations.
