What you'll be doing
The HR Strategic Initiatives team provides strategic direction and proactive support to our business partners to advance business strategies, leadership, and cultural imperatives at CIBC on a number of different bank-wide initiatives. As an HR Project Director, you will support the team by delivering projects of varying sizes in support of our many business units across the bank. You will focus on translating business needs into integrated HR solutions.
You will lead teams of stakeholders including technology and business partners to ensure projects of all sizes are completed in line with the team’s scope, budget, quality, benefit realization and timeline, following CIBC’s Enterprise Delivery Framework (EDF). You will use your expertise in project management, people change management (PCM) and system development lifecycle (SDLC) [AGILE and Waterfall] methodologies to proactively identify challenges and possible improvements on all project plans during planning, execution, testing and implementations.
The role works with the Line of Business leadership team to ensure their HR requirements are met and helps build a working environment conducive to high levels of employee commitment and engagement. A good understanding of key areas of human resources would be beneficial in this role.

How you’ll succeed
Project Management Expertise : Leverage deep understanding of Program/Project management principles, approaches and change management in the delivery of projects. Work with Sponsors, Business, HR, & Technology leads to initiate program/project structure & workstreams by supporting the development of project plans, status reporting, interdependencies, governance, objectives, success criteria, benefits management approach, scope requirements, project financials, defining resource requirements, and other related program tasks. 5-10 years of success running end-to-end strategic projects and change management in fast paced environment with at least 3 years’ experience as a Senior Project Manager. Preference will be given to candidates in the financial services industry along with delivery experience in both HR, business and technology.
Project Leadership : Proactively identify risks that will take projects off schedule and find solutions to correct the problem. Monitor milestones, and ensure they’re completed according to timelines and budgets. Develop, execute and track a project plan that is personalized for your team’s preferred mix of quality, time, and cost.
Relationship Management: Build ongoing partnerships with key clients and business partners. Collaborate and develop informed decisions and plans with program/project partners as you work toward a common goal and negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.
Communication: Develop compelling presentation materials to report project status and support executive discussion and decision making. Calibrate work progress, status and participate in the negotiation and influence business partners to ensure alignment of initiatives and individual deliverables across dependent initiatives.

You can demonstrate experience … in the delivery of large & complex programs with significant strategic, business & technical components in a multi-channel, multi-product service environment. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in implementation and application of Project Management discipline.
You’re a certified professional: You have current accreditation and good standing PMP designation (asset), you have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
