The Sourcing Manager is responsible for leading Bank-wide Technology Sourcing and project activities while working closely with senior business unit leadership and other sourcing leaders. The Technology Sourcing Manager will collaborate with senior business unit leadership and sourcing leaders in pursuit of improvements in quality, innovation, and service levels. The Technology Sourcing Manager will have the opportunity to improve upon current processes with a goal of centralizing and consolidating company-wide supplier selection. By contributing to a competitive marketplace this role will consistently drives reductions in the total cost of goods and services procured. Manage and own the category management activities within the Bank related to IT.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Create relationships with IT leaders to support enterprise objectives, influence key stakeholders and jointly develop strategic sourcing strategies while collaborating on sourcing initiatives and projects

  • Collaborate with Business Unit and Operations leaders to fully understand key business drivers, spend drivers, and achieve required support levels

  • Manage business value through the development of high quality and cost effective supply relationships, while pursuing and championing total cost of ownership (TCO) savings directly by savings captured through leveraging Bank-wide purchasing volume, strategic supplier relationships, demand management or indirect savings realized by driving innovation and or enhancing the overall effectiveness of the supply management process

  • Directly manage and implement best practices in sourcing initiatives related to IT

  • Manage category within and across the Bank’s business segments, and serve as a key contributor to a well-developed and evolving supplier management process

  • Track sourcing initiatives for multi-functional stakeholder teams, ensuring effective strategy development, market assessments, RFP processes, contract and supplier negotiation, and supplier management while enabling collaboration and innovation between stakeholders and suppliers

  • Establish and develop on-going strategic relationships with key suppliers during major sourcing/project initiatives

  • Proactively work with the Business Line VMOs and contract owners to understand business needs, business strategy, and pipeline of contract renewals to build an overall supplier contract strategy (consolidate and reduce contracts where opportunity exists)

  • Consolidate information around performance and renewals and support Category Sourcing leads to inform category sourcing and supplier strategies

  • Develop Top-to-Top Enterprise Supplier Meeting facilitation materials and conduct Top-to-Top Supplier Meetings for enterprise suppliers

  • Act as the issues/incident escalation point for the supplier that may have an enterprise wide impact or not resolved at the business level

  • Contribute to a disciplined effort to influence spend and drive cost savings across all business segments

  • Support consistent application of procurement processes across constituent groups

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • Skilled in facilitating communication among Sourcing, IT, business, and legal teams to effectively structure contracts that meet the bank’s requirements.

  • Understand the wider objectives of procurement practices, such as business and strategic goals

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and comfort in speaking with senior leaders at the Bank

  • Knowledgeable in financial services and regulations (e.g., OSFI, OCC, CFPB, UDAAP) and how they are applied to Third Party relationships is preferred

  • Ability to comprehend complex technical and financial issues and use them to inform the creation of effective action plans and supplier strategies

  • Ability to provide both technical and managerial leadership to their organization

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills

  • Ability to develop analyses and insights into supply market trends

  • Knowledge and experience with state-of-the-art procurement and analysis technologies

  • Knowledge and understanding of emerging IT and related architecture

  • Demonstrated leading Strategic Sourcing and/or strategic supplier relationships

  • Proven ability to develop and execute formal negotiations for IT agreements

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business, or related field; master (MA or MSc) in business or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years progressive sourcing experience

  • CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) asset

  • Global sourcing experience
