The incumbent will be an important member of the Attributed Capital - Reporting and Analysis team, the role has responsibilities for ensuring accurate and timely reporting and communication of attributed capital to the business lines, with emphasis on International Banking. The incumbent will also support the Bank’s Internal Capital Adequacy Reporting (ICAAP).

The incumbent will also support the Bank’s planning and forecasting reporting processes and will work closely with the Business Lines to ensure plan and forecast repots are up to date and questions/concerns are responded to in a timely manner.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Participate in the different processes involved in the production of Attributed Capital numbers for all business lines in a timely and accurate way. These processes include execution of the Attributed Capital system runs, application of adjustments, reasonability analysis and posting final numbers to EGL system.

  • Be responsible for the quarterly aggregation of Internal Capital Adequacy requirements including the Bank’s quarterly Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment (ICAAP) reporting to the Board (ERM report) and the submission to OSFI.

  • Responsible for the quarterly calculation of the regulatory Operational Risk Capital and RWA for all bank and subsidiaries, this process includes coordination with Group Operational Risk team to obtain the historical loss data, execution of the Operational Risk Capital system runs, reasonability analysis and providing Regulatory Capital team with final Ops Risk BCAR schedule for OSFI submission.

  • Work with the business lines, in particular those in International Banking, to create a deeper understanding of the attributed capital requirements of the business line and to promote the use of attributed capital as a key metric for profitability analysis. As such the incumbent should have a strong understanding of the business activities of each business line.

  • Perform quarterly forecasting of attributed capital, assist in the annual strategic and profit planning processes, as well as the Bank-wide stress testing program.

  • Where required, lead and coordinate initiatives with other areas in Capital Management (i.e: Regulatory Capital Reporting) to ensure business line allocation is consistent with the all-Bank approach.

  • Perform attributed capital assessments for proposed transactions and new product initiatives, including scenario analysis.

  • Respond to numerous ad hoc queries from different business lines in a timely manner.

  • Assist the Director/Sr. Manager with preparing documentation and completing other deliverables to OSFI and/or Senior Management, on an as-required basis.

  • Promote strategic relationships and build key business contacts with departments across the Bank to facilitate appropriate capital modelling and forecasting. Gain involvement of key stakeholders to ensure that business goals are met with respect to the Bank's Capital strategy. Serve as a check point to decisions made in other departments that may impact capital.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you possess:

  • University degree related to business; finance and/or accounting.

  • Preferred 5+ years’ experience in the Finance area of a major financial institution

  • Familiarity with capital management concepts - Basel III requirements, and OSFI’s CAR guidelines including ICAAP requirements.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Access and other MS Office suite products, knowledge of Power BI is an added asset.

  • Good communication skills both oral and written (English and Spanish)

  • Strong analytical and research skills, attention to detail

  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability, ability to multi-task in a time-sensitive environment

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

  • Knowledge of the Bank’s key products and related reporting systems

  • CA, CMA, CFA will be added asset.
