The Opportunity

Office locations: Boston-USA or Toronto-Canada or Waterloo-Canada

Work Arrangement: role requires to be Hybrid - 3 days in Office, 2 days from Home

Lead Enterprise Solution Architect

You will lead the solution architecture practice and strategy for the Cloud and Technology domain. Evangelize and drive alignment on the adoption and realization of the solution architecture strategy with hands-on approach, researching and presenting solutions, conducting experiments, and building prototypes to validate ideas and demonstrate the effectiveness of the solutions you recommend.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for architectural design, issues, and solutions considerations; apply industry standard processes to build scalable and secure solutions that have outstanding technical performance.

  • Defines desired platform, analyzes, designs and implements new technologies as required by evolving user needs.

  • Recommends architectural solutions for complex infrastructure based on standards

  • Builds and maintains complex system architectures.

  • Troubleshoots mis-specified architectures and rapidly corrects them.

  • Has positive impact to specific organizational entities & understands nature of impact.

  • Crafts templates and solution components for software and platform engineers to use.

  • Works across small to medium-sized teams with a common purpose of setting guidelines and clarifying outcomes.

  • An understanding of, and ability to use, design patterns to steer business requirements into enterprise wide technical strategies

  • Experience in building / deploying cloud native and serverless applications

  • Excellent knowledge of Cloud infrastructure, networking, services, and cloud architectural patterns; specifically, compute using virtual machines, managed infrastructure, containers, serverless, as well as database services, security services, and application services

  • Understanding of Shift Left principles and facilitation technologies

  • Working Knowledge of Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, ServiceNow a big plus

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent

  • Minimum 12 years relevant work experience in Public Cloud / Hybrid Cloud Architecture Design and Implementation

  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms, including but not limited to Azure, Alibaba Cloud.

  • Azure hands-on experience is highly desired

  • Strong technical experience in designing Cloud Native Architecture

  • Azure Solutions Architecture Expert certification(s) and/or Alibaba Cloud certification preferred.

  • Knowledge on Cloud Native Architecture

  • Experience in Agile, Scrum and DevOps methodologies

  • Experience in Containerization, Automation and Orchestration using tools such as Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins…etc

  • Sound knowledge across multiple IT technology domains

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Toronto, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between

$107,730.00 CAD - $200,070.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
