Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. Tax Services

Our Tax Services team is responsible for developing and delivering corporate direct and indirect taxes on an enterprise-wide basis for TD Bank Financial Group (TD). As a part of the Tax Services team, our Indirect Tax team manages the planning, tax technical and compliance functions with respect to the federal and provincial sales taxes (i.e., federal Goods and Services Tax (GST), Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), Provincial Sales Tax (PST), and Quebec Sales Tax (QST)) of the bank and its subsidiaries.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Assist the Indirect Tax team with accurate and timely compliance with sales tax regulations

  • Collaborate with different teams to obtain data and information to complete our indirect tax compliances/ projects

  • Leverage technology to improve/automate processes to achieve operational efficiency and data accuracy for the indirect tax team as well for the wider Canada Tax team

  • Assist in preparation of correspondence with the tax authorities including response to audit queries, tax rebate claims, and Notice of Objections etc.

  • Provide operational tax support to business areas and subsidiaries including data and business analysis to ensure sales tax compliance and to identify potential problems and recommend solutions.

  • Provide ad hoc support for senior management.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field (must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Apps (particularly Excel), with the ability to quickly learn other computer applications and software

  • Comfortable in working with large volume of data with strong analytical skill

  • A curious and diligent attitude; take ownership and accountability on their assignments

  • This position is a 4-month work term and will commence January 6th – April 25th, 2025.
