Job Purpose
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our management team and lead HR for Hill’s second largest subsidiary. We are searching for an exceptional HR professional who is not just experienced, but truly passionate about driving human resources strategies that invigorate business objectives and elevate organizational performance. As a trusted advisor to cross-functional leaders, the HRBP will be instrumental in delivering solutions that foster a high-performing work environment, anticipate and act on human capital needs, and ensure the alignment of HR principles. You will collaborate intimately with the leadership team to devise and deliver innovative solutions that propel business success and foster a culture of excellence. Your insights into local market trends and external influences will be key in shaping strategic decisions and ensuring our business remains agile and forward-thinking. You will also play a role in the Hill’s HR Leadership for the DIvision, elevating and advocating for the Canadian needs, and also influencing the global activation of our people strategies.

Main Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
HR Partnership:
Be a trusted partner to key cross-functional leaders, working collaboratively across teams to design and deliver solutions that drive measurable business results
Provide leadership and guidance to business leaders related to the implementation and management of the HR
Understand local market and external factors to develop insights and to inform Business HR, COHREs and business decisions
Anticipate and plan for human capital implications i.e. workforce planning, talent acquisition and development, and performance-based activities in order to achieve business goals;
Align the Business Unit/Global Function with enterprise HR principles, policies and standards
Partner with the various COHRE and CBS teams on HR processes (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning, Data Management etc.)
Talent Management and Acquisition:
Coach the organization in the areas of communication skills, career paths, promoting a positive work environment through formal and informal feedback sessions
Co-own all talent management (Career Development, Talent Planning, Performance Enablement) programs together with functional business leaders
Guide and support managers in the performance enablement process
Ensure on-boarding and assimilation processes for new employees confirms alignment with organization’s vision and culture and achieves their ability to quickly contribute to the organization’s goals
Propose solutions and best practices that are aligned with HR Strategy and COHREs
Manage the recruitment of any contract or temporary employees
Organization Effectiveness (Organization Performance, Design, Capabilities and Change Management)
Spearhead and influence new ways of working in collaboration with the business to drive organizational success;
Develop impactful solutions for people and organizational challenges to maximize performance and anticipate business needs;
Collaborate with business leaders on organization design and identify gaps and opportunities
Facilitate and support change management tailored to specific Business Unit and Global Function needs
Collaborate with Business Leaders and Managers on employee engagement initiatives
Positive Employee Relations
Serve as an employee advocate by establishing workforce relationships
Coach and support leaders’ capabilities to create and maintain a positive employee relations work environment
Establish proactive and responsive channels of communication to understand the pulse of the organization
Advise and coach business leaders and managers on the resolution of employee inquiries and issues, consulting with internal / external Legal as needed
Champion the company’s Ethical Leadership standards, behaviors and compliance
Monitor HR compliance on-site, including 3rd party contractors
Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
Location of Work: Toronto Head Office (Hybrid role)
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree
At least 8 years of progressive Human Resource experience in
leading and implementing HR initiatives and projects
a HR Generalist/HRBP role supporting Leadership Teams
navigating a large multinational organization at a corporate office
one or more HR Specialty Area (Compensation, Benefits, People Relations, People Development, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, Analytics, Organization Development/Design)
using SAP-HR and Success Factors systems
Preferred Experience
Bachelor's in Human Resources or related discipline
Master’s degree
CPG experience
Senior leadership support/stakeholder management
Success Criteria
Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships, collaborate and influence stakeholders across the organization
Ability to drive the HR Strategy through various initiatives and effective communication skills
Strong and proven project management, presentation, and facilitation skills required
Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excellent spoken & written communication (English required, French would be an asset) and problem solving skills
Ability to interpret and explain HR policies, laws and standards
Ability to address Employee Relations issues like interpersonal conflict, policy violations, or other employee concerns
Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Support geographically dispersed workforce
Experience building employee engagement across organizations
Highly organized, excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Positive attitude and resilience in the approach to new challenges and setbacks
Must have strong technology skills with competence with Google Suite
Self motivated and able to navigate change in a fast paced environment
