Financial Analyst – Marketing (Contract to April 30, 2025)

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our growing team supporting our client, Whirlpool Canada. This is a contract position to January 31, 2025 with the possibility of an extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Responsibilities

This position is suitable for someone who has 3 to 4 years of work experience working closely with business partners and helping them with developing and execution of pricing and promotional strategies, managing profitability, preparing scenario and sensitivity analysis to ensure Whirlpool maintains the market leader position in the marketplace.

  • Work closely with the Marketing department by providing in-depth financial analysis and providing context to their financials. Lead the Profit planning process, Monthly Outlook process for Marketing function. Structured reporting to explain business partners understand the actual result with explanation of variances.

  • Cost analysis by understanding and monitoring trends (e.g. Industry, market share, Price margin realization, etc) and providing recommendations to Management.

  • Manage large amounts of data, converting numbers to information and translating it for business to help understand business and make meaningful decisions.

  • Support business partners to understand drivers for profitability of their business and develop pricing strategies, execution and post implementation evaluation of promotional plans.

  • Administration of Sales allowances - accounting compliance and support to invest and get maximum ROI (return on investment).

  • Develop integrated analytical tools, enabling enhanced value-added analysis to facilitate function for timely decision making.

  • Support Product Managers to manage costs for new products and help develop pricing strategies for the same.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Accounting or Finance designation earned or in process (CPA Ontario (CMA / CGA / CA))

  • 3+ years of financial analysis experience including but not limited to revenue, costs and profitability aspects of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.

  • Experience partnering with business functions (i.e. Sales, Marketing, etc).

Preferred Requirements

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in financial analysis related to revenue and profit management - with topics related to pricing, allowance management, profitability management, sensitivity, and scenario analysis, break even analysis, etc.

  • Understanding of general accounting principles and concepts.

  • Communicate effectively both verbal and written to interact successfully with internal and external contacts.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assimilate a large amount of information.

  • Effective listening skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of PC applications (Excel, Word) and financial systems.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while adhering to strict deadlines.

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization supporting cross-functional business partners.

  • Strong and effective team player (building and maintaining a strong, positive relationship with all functions, senior leadership, other finance members, and US peers).

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and establish priorities.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
