What you’ll be doing
As the Director, Strategic Sponsorships you will be responsible for providing strategic planning, expert advice, and guidance to ensure that Sponsorship investments are integrated, coordinated and deliver a strong return on investment while demonstrating CIBC’s focus on Client Relationships. You will direct strategic programs including Toronto Pearson (GTAA), Metrolinx, Whistler, ONRoute and more. The role is accountable for ensuring engagement and collaboration across all lines of business and every region of Canada.

How you'll succeed
Work with business partners (internal/external) to execute against approved strategy and implement measures for success.
This role is accountable for ensuring that critical strategic partnership relationships are well supported by monitoring and protecting partnership rights with tact, diplomacy and efficiency, escalating as required.
Manage internal approval processes on programs and campaigns.
Ensure initiatives deliver against plan objectives , are aligned to divisional strategic priorities and support key marketing principles.
Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager and Sponsorship Marketing to ensure alignment with our product/service marketing communication and to determine relevant products/service solutions should they be a component of the Sponsorship campaign.
Work effectivity across functions with Marketing, Community Investment, Communications & Public Affairs to maximize the value of Sponsorships.
Develop and manage strong relationships with internal business partners , particularly alignment and coordination with Retail Distribution, Card Services and Capital Markets to ensure business needs are met, contract rights are protected and relationships are productive.
Engage with third party suppliers and agency partners.
Track financial triggers and accurately capture business results on a regular basis (including ATMs, retail, foreign exchange, cards, segment and group banking offers).
Develop and lead Marquee programs in conjunction with the GTAA to build CIBC brand awareness and opportunities for CIBC clients at Toronto Pearson
Ensure on-going communication and manage weekly status updates on all aspects of assigned projects and responsibilities owned.
Proactively identify new and effective ways to maximize Sponsorship potential the forecasting of revenue generation and ROI.
Support other sponsorship and marketing initiatives as required.
Work to bring professionalism , simplicity and caring to all we do.
Who you are
You can demonstrate experience in marketing and sponsorships and (5+ years), including a solid understanding of how to demonstrate ROI.
Broad understanding of marketing communications including planning, production and implementation.
Demonstrated ability to manage strategic plans.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to support recommendations with facts.
Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and project management skills , along with the ability to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
Ability to develop and implement plans with interdepartmental working teams.
Strong drive to ensure timely delivery.
Team player that can assist on campaigns outside of Strategic Partnership and Community Investment initiatives if required
