What You'll Be Doing
The Capital Markets arm of CIBC serves corporate, government and institutional clients with innovative solutions and value added services. From actionable ideas to highly-tailored financing solutions, M&A advice and a strong line-up of capital markets and treasury services, CIBC Capital Markets teams can provide the capabilities the clients need to help capitalize on opportunities and manage risk.
As a Director, Business Management, Global Distribution, you'll be responsible for contributing to the Business Management function pertaining to all of the components of Global Distribution. This will include liaising with the business (front office) and across CIBC to ensure all business strategies/initiatives/projects/regulatory & compliance issues are addressed and resolved. Working on the trading floor in our Toronto office with senior professionals in a progressive team environment, the successful candidate will complete tasks that impact the firm's bottom line, interacting directly with salespeople, traders, and infrastructure groups in a fast-paced environment.

How You'll Succeed
Client Strategy & Planning: You'll support and contribute to strategic and business planning working with the Business Manager. Take responsibility for the preparation of client strategy and account plans. You'll prepare client briefs for senior management meetings and coordinate client management activities. Take on project management of new initiatives including Change Initiative Risk Assessments (CIRAs).
Execution Support: You'll partner with infrastructure groups to implement business plans and execute strategic initiatives. You will prepare pitch books, term sheets, marketing material and information dashboards.You'll work with other Business Managers and Finance Business Support to develop: Senior Management and Board Presentations, presentations for onsite/offsite conferences, ad-hoc presentations, analysis of sales and trading revenue and market data, and market and industry research. You’ll be accessible to the business throughout the day to actively respond to information requirements/requests and resolve day-to-day issues.
Governance & Compliance: You'll coordinate and attest to CIBC governance functions - user access, contracts, etc. Ensure Risk Delegations and Authorized Products Listings are up-to-date. Promptly coordinate and respond to auditor/regulator requests, findings and reports. You'll be a compliance liaison supporting registrations, continuing education, working supervisory procedures. You'll develop and implement improvements to internal procedures and practices including effective and documented internal control structure as evidenced by policies and procedures specific to the individual business activities.
Finance/MIS: You'll be responsible for the integrity of client information in numerous data repositories including Salesforce. You'll create performance metric tools and run ad-hoc MIS reporting
Who You Are
You can demonstrate knowledge of capital markets products (products and processes) with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in capital markets or a corporate development function.
You have an undergraduate degree ; MBA/CFA/CA is an asset.
