Manulife Data Quality Engineer in Toronto, Ontario
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about software quality and tests automation? The Global Data Office seeks a capable Quality Engineer who can learn and create automation scripts, and perform testing in a fast-paced environment!
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Squad members, peer Quality Engineers and DevOps Leads to build the automated tests and configure them to complete in a deployment
Develops and implement quality engineering code to enhance and optimize overall quality and reliability of products
Balancing different projects and prioritizing them based on RISK
Working on manual and automation is a must
Create and maintain a reusable set of automated tests: Unit, Integrated, Performance, and functional tests with QA and business experts
Identification of test scenarios, test cases, use cases that can be applied to business requirements
Identification and creation of reusable test data, particularly for automated testing
Responsible for finding, isolating, documenting, and resolving defects throughout the QA process using a bug tracking tool efficiently.
Manage test requests, estimating time needed and working with other team members to set priorities following risk based testing approach
Understand existing data flows and dashboards
Participate in sprint-planning, standups, test strategy, test estimation and planning discussions
Communicate test results and highlight any potential quality risks
Build and maintain relationships within the business unit and supporting areas
Collaborate with geographically and culturally diverse multi-functional teams
Continuously upskill your technical and testing knowledge
Keep up-to-date on industry test software and frameworks

What we are looking for
6-10+ years of experience in testing software and maintaining test automation
Experience within a Financial and/or Insurance Company
Experience in Azure Platforms ADF, ADB, Databricks Notebook, Synapse, Python PySpark and SQL
Experience in Data comparison, Data Quality, PBI Testing, API testing
Experience in data structures like SQL, delta, parquet, XML, JSON, CSV, text files etc.
Good experience in Python/Java and SQL programming languages
Experience of relational and data warehouse technology working with Hadoop (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Synapse)
Experience of QA tools, methodology and process
Experience building automated test scripts in parallel of development efforts in an Agile environment is an asset
Knowledge in apache spark will be an asset
Knowledge on performance test tools like jmeter, load-runner
Knowledge and experience with DevOps, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment is an asset.

Nice to Have
Knowledge/experience in OpenAPI for test automation
Experience in creating new test automation framework or enhancing existing framework
Experience in overall design, creation, architecture, and maintenance of automation frameworks using Selenium WebDriver/Grid, Appium, Robot, Cucumber/JMeter, TestNG, Rest API etc.
Experience in Excel macros, functions, MS ccess, linked tables etc.
Experience in Git Hub, Confluence, JIRA, JIRA XRay
Knowledge of Cucumber JS, Gherkin, Mocha, Chai, Jest, Protractor will be an asset
Knowledge of API and web service testing tools such as DevTest, SoapUI and Postman

Salary range is expected to be between
$74,270.00 CAD - $137,930.00 CAD
