As an experienced data engineer you will play a crucial role in supporting the design, development, and optimization of data solutions. We are seeking an experienced data engineer to work with lead data engineers and global Sanofi data engineering teams to drive implementation of Data platform for Sanofi's advanced analytic, AI, and ML initiatives. As an experienced Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in helping design and implement globally scalable data engineering platform to make it easier for internal teams to start implementation of their user case and to enhance the lives of our global patients and customers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with experienced data engineers and business teams to assist in understanding data requirements, especially in areas like bioinformatics, omics, clinical data, and more.

  • Learn and assist in the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. Support the efficient data ingestion, transformation, and reliable delivery of data.

  • Familiarize yourself with data integration technologies, ETL / ELT processes, and modern data engineering tools. Gain hands-on experience with tools such as Informatica/IICS to create cutting-edge solutions.

  • Assist in tasks related to the life-cycle management of deployed data assets and products, including monitoring and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior team members.

  • Learn about and adhere to global data engineering standards, ensuring alignment with data architecture, platform, quality, and governance principles.

  • Explore and develop foundational knowledge in data warehouse/lake solutions, data mesh architectures, and distributed processing technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).

  • Gain familiarity with cloud technologies, with a focus on AWS, to support the development and maintenance of modern cloud-native data platforms.

  • Build proficiency in SQL (preferably in Snowflake) and relational/non-relational databases. Use programming languages such as Python, Shell scripting, and Scala/Java.

About You

  • Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in data engineering or a related field.

  • A strong passion for data engineering and a desire to learn and grow in the field.

  • Eagerness to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and learn from experienced data professionals.

  • Basic understanding of data concepts and an analytical mindset.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn how to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

  • Interest in data integration technologies, cloud platforms, and data engineering tools.
