What you'll be doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Shared Platform Technology. You’ll be hands on with all aspects of the systems testing process and provide suggestions that will ensure client needs are met with the highest quality. As a Consultant, IT Quality Assurance you’ll be a team lead on CIBC’s Technology team, assigning and overseeing the execution of test cases and providing coaching to your team members. You’ll create test plans, develop strategies, and provide estimates that will help create the bank of the future.

How you'll succeed
Testing expertise : Lead the investigation and translation of business requirements into test cases. Design and manage end-to-end testing activities for various projects across the business. Use your expertise in software development testing to provide clients with quality products that meet business and system requirements.
Leadership skills : Provide advice to your team, including ongoing feedback, support, and mentorship. Proactively identifyany potential issues throughout all test phases, andsuggest possible improvementsor enhancements.
Project coordination : Identify obstacles or risks that may impact a project’s timeline or success and provide regular status updates to the business. Keep the lines of communication open with stakeholders, and escalate issues when necessary. Ensure that all test deliverables are received, approved, and aligned to your project’s timeline, budget and goals.
IT Quality Assurance: Capable of leading & mentoring Testing team - Lead daily stand-ups, mentor junior QAs, and explain complex application workflows and architectural decisions along with UAT/E2E Testing co-ordination for the project
Responsible for Test metrics, preparation, analysis, reporting and UAT/E2E testing deliverables
Function as the single point of contact to the client for co-ordination & other involved stakeholders for all aspects of Testing viz., releases, planning, support, execution etc.
Must have experience in creating Test Strategies/ Test Plans
Experienced in creating Test execution report, Test Summary report, closure reports etc.
Provide daily testing metrics/defect and defect/issue resolution by working with PM on test plan execution, risk identification and mitigation and project plan execution.
Good experience in Test management tools like JIRA/ALM
Able to guide Test team & Automation team and complete the test activities within the sprint
Support the implementation of DevOps by integrating automated tests into pipelines and continuous testing/monitoring
Who You Are
You can demonstrate 5 + years of experience in:
QA Lead with 5+ years in API Automation Testing to ensure smooth data exchange between the front-end and back-end components
Extensive experience in designing and development of automated test framework for APIs using Rest Assured and Java
Experience in API Testing (REST/SOAP) using tools like ParasoftSOAtest, Postman/SOAPUI, handling JSON messages, and strong experience in SQL databases
Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO), including YAML, Azure Pipelines, and GitHub Actions
Strong knowledge of API Security standars/protocols/frameworks (e.g., REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC), API gateways Authentication and Authorization Protocols (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT etc.)
Good to have knowledge of API documentation tools such as Swagger or OpenAPI
3+ years of experience in ETL testing/Data Engineering testing experience in Azure Databricks will be advantage
Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Ability to work on enterprise E2E integration scenarios
Familiarity with workflow management tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub Issues) for issue tracking and collaboration
Good experience of defect management & defect triage meetings
Experience in working in Agile methodology, Scrum & huddle meetings
Extensive knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Bug Life Cycle
