Program Overview – Building Services, Housing & Homelessness Services
Building Services is responsible for preventative and emergency maintenance at WoodGreen owned, leased and managed properties, including janitorial, grounds keeping. The program is responsible for preparing residential suites for new occupants; supervising and carrying out upgrades to offices and properties; providing physical support to WoodGreen programs and services as well as ensuring all applicable codes, standards and policies are met and adhered to.
What You Will Do
Carries out preventive and corrective maintenance on all Woodgreen building structures, systems, equipment and furnishings as assigned. This includes, but is not limited to, Mechanical equipment such as:

Mechanical and plumbing, HVAC, Electrical, Structural, Life Safety, Security,
Must be able to perform the many tasks required including, but not limited to: Replacing filters, Drywalling, Painting.
Must be able to operate a variety of tools and equipment Multi-tester, amp probe, power tools
Must be able to operate and maintain John Deere garden tractor
Must be able to operate FAP, security systems
recommends repairs or physical changes to building systems for improved operation
Must be able to assist and work with outside contractors for smooth operation and in emergencies
Must carry phone during regular duties and be able to respond to emergencies. On a rotating basis performs after hours on call duties, carries phone or for that purpose.
Assists with janitorial and groundskeeping duties as needed.
Assists with moving /setting up of office and program equipment and furniture as needed.
Must be familiar with WoodGreen emergency procedures and protocols and follow said procedures and protocols
Responsible for knowing, understanding and following WoodGreen Policies and Procedures.
Responsible for attending training as assigned for the purpose of upgrading skills.
Responsible for attending WoodGreen Organizational training as assigned.
Participate in regular supervisory sessions, regular Building Services training, and regular staff and unit meetings
Must be able to carry out inspections on all building systems and equipment such as, but not limited to:
This includes, but is not limited to, Mechanical equipment such as:
Make Up Air Units, Roof top Units, Chillers, Fan Coils, Heat Pumps, Sump Pumps, Boilers, Water supply equipment, door operators, compactors, exhaust fans
Appliances such as;
Refrigerators, stoves, ovens, vacuums, buffers
Plumbing components such as: Toilets, bathtubs, sinks, valves, shut offs, pipes, pumps
Carpentry such as: Doors, countertops, cupboards, closets, windows, walls, flooring
Security components such as: Keys, locks, door hardware
Must be able to read and use manuals, schedules, for the proper repair and maintenance of equipment and systems
Must have thorough understanding of building systems and equipment and be able to trouble shoot and resolve problems. Must be able to accurately provide information to Building Services Management and Contractors when reporting on problems.
